Hi SSG - all sorted and away - thank goodness. Examples also done and have been sent to friends to take apart
.
So I had a bit of brain blurp this morning on my finances - all good I hope. I looked at YNAB and my easy access savings are more than my debt. I just thought 'sod it' and moved £2000 from savings to pay most of my loan of (typical - Nationwide is down for maintenance so can't send payment to loan until after 2.30pm). This means that I have £243 to pay on 1st feb & I am debt free BUT it also means that all my savings pots (car/insurance/holiday/heating oil etc) are empty!!! My reasoning is that they will start to be filled again next month & I should be ok for payments for a few months and that gives me time to have savings. For peace of mind I would rather be debt free earlier than later. So from 1st Feb it will be full on savings - I have to make a payment for my holiday and I'm so hoping it's the minimum £150. I will be starting 2020 (well nearly at the start) debt free in 20 days:D.
I'm waiting for my sister to pop up today to do some admin work for her and other than that I'm going to prep for work tomorrow and watch a movie.0 -
DEBT FREE
14 January 20200 -
Hi all
I decided to use up part of my 'rates/tax' fund and finish paying of my loan so I am debt free.
I'm a bit anxious though because I only have £350 in rates fund (need £900 by April) and £50 in my car fund (need £300 by April). All my other pots are empty but I know that I can now build up my savings pots so that I will have savings to pay all my bills and my planned holidays and I aim to have £3,000 in my emergency fund by the end of the year.
I suppose I'm just a worrier and I like to have a safety blanket ready just in case.
So paycheck on 1st Feb will go towards pots & the rest of 2020 will I try to continue to be a non fritterer & have a lovely fluffy comforting security blanket...…& not fall back into debt (bit scared as I've said that before & oops I'm back in debt).

Hi all,
I was looking for MSE inspiration and read Hypno diary and found her theme for 1 of her diaries "Just for Today....." In Reiki, they follow 5 principles-
1. Just for today, I will not be angry.
2. Just for today, I will not worry.
3. Just for today, I will be grateful.
4. Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
5. Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.
So it is all about taking one day at a time, so Just for today, I will -
- eat healthier
- try not to spend any money
- and attempt to follow the above.0 -

Morning all
What a month..phew..it’s almost over. I’ve been preparing for a work thing and it took up so much time and stress and it’s now done. I’m not happy with my performance because of the effort involved and I could have quit at anytime and I now wish I had. Done, dusted and reset.
Normal service has resumed:D. So thank goodness yesterday was pay day & I can finally put money towards my savings. I did put down a deposit on a holiday in Oct. February is going to be a lot more relaxed - I’m going out with my friends one weekend, away to nice hotel for volunteer thing and meeting friend for our monthly brunch. I don’t have a lot of plans this weekend but planning a catch up & tidy weekend.
