Spending mini fast
In 2020 I’m going to do a spending mini fast - I’m calling it mini as I don’t plan on being as hardcore as some where they never eat out etc - Fairplay to them but I need a balance.
Rules- Cash only
- Needs not Wants (& buy needs when what I already have is totally used up)
- Menu plan (& use up store cupboard)
- NSDs Monday to Friday

Morning all,
I'm in work but hoping that we get sent home early. I started reading 'Shades of Hope' yesterday which is an ED recovery book as I felt really wobbly after Xmas and it's nice to draw inspiration and plod on.
On the money front - my savings are ready to be squirreled away into savings pots and I can't wait to colour in the first squares on my savings & debt charts - exciting fun for tomorrow. I going to pop to the shop on the way home from work for some necessities - really surprised how much the store cupboard has shrunk over Xmas but glad as well.
Tomorrow my brother is hosting dinner and I'm looking forward to not having to prep or prepare and just enjoy the day.
I hope everyone has a lovely New Year's Eve or Old Year's end0 -

Hi Munchin! I'm so pleased you had a lovely Christmas. Your nephew's present sounded just the ticket for you - it shows that a thoughtful, inexpensive present can easily top a dear, flamboyant gift.
Good luck with your 2020 goals and all the best for the New Year!

I woke up at 5 this morning so obviously my mind is ready for the start of a new decade even if my body isn't.
I've been reading new diaries and catching up with old ones. I had all my budgets set up for Jan & 2020 in general and woke up this morning to a mistake. I forgot to cancel my credit card standing order and £150 left my current account this morning which I need for the direct debits due out tomorrow - oops. I've messaged my bank and ask them to return the payment and hopefully all should be good. Not the best start to 2020 but just means I have to pay more attention and it's nice that the credit card is clear and doesn't need this payment.
New Years Eve was quiet. I think many of my family & friends had the same idea and sent their Best Wishes early and went to bed. Today I'm at my brothers and looking forward to it.
I'm back in work tomorrow but everything feels upside down as it now feels like it should be the weekend. I didn't do much in work the last 2 days and I can't see me doing much the next 2 days.
The savings pots have been replenished and my signature updated. Looking forward to what 2020 brings.

How annoying about the DD Munchin! Still at least you're getting the cash back and the CC is clear.
I hope you enjoyed your day with your brother's family.

Morning
Work is still so quiet but it is an opportunity to tidy up for year ahead. It’s been a funny week with the bank holiday in the middle.
Plans this weekend include meeting a friend for breakfast (her turn to pay). I’m also trying to keep my spends to the weekend & I need a small top up shop (veg, milk etc). I need to buy pup some food as well. Hoping to keep spends under £25.
Time to get ready for work.0 -
Afternoon
I spent a bit more today than I had planned yesterdaybut I didn’t deviate from my list. I spent £46.55 in total but that was food for the pup & top up groceries. I have no plans to spend anything for rest of week.
After meeting my friend, I came home and took down all the decorations and tidied up - very bare now.0 -
Morning all,
I have a list of boring work/catch up stuff to do today and I know once it is done I will feel relieved and feel in front of the cr*p. I have a promotion interview at end of month which I’m dreading but still going to do it & if I can get my interview examples finished today then my friends can tear them to pieces for me to amend and then learn. I also have an article for my volunteer thing to do, well it should have been done on friday:o.
Plans today
- [STRIKE]Prepare interview examples & responses[/STRIKE] - stuck at it for 3 hours but still not done.
- Write article for volunteer mag- nope ….in draft and will finish tomorrow
- [STRIKE]Prep lunches for week ahead[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Ironing & prep clothes for week ahead[/STRIKE]
Relax and enjoy the day after I have done the above.
