I have t'confess, I don't go in much for decorations. (Don't shoot me!)
Having said that, we will decorate probably the weekend of the 8th, with a few red and natural straw decs from Ikea. I always try t'use natural materials and a real tree. The window normally has straw snowflakes hanging from it, however we're getting double glazing this week so need to work out how I'm going to attach them without using drawing pins. White tack may be the answer.
The tree will be bought weekend of the 15th - this year we are getting a little conifer that can sit on the windowsill. I'll decorate it with some mini decs from Christmas Angel in York, plus a garland of popcorn and cranberries. This will go outside for the birds on Christmas Eve as we'll head up to my parents that day.
We will de-christmas sometime around new year - probably the weekend before. (And this year need to remember t'pack away the red straw heart. Its hung on the mirror in the living room all year coz we forgot about it. Looks nice though, and isn't particularly christmassy.)
I'm loathe t'do too much as a) my partner and I celebrate Yule not Christmas, so don't feel the need t'follow the norms and b) we have a young cat this year, who likes pouncing on things. I dread t'think what he'll make of our little tree!
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

i think that christmas is what you make it in your own family and I love to hear all of the variations of peoples christmases. Some stories on here have made me cry because they have had a hard time and others have made me err.. cry again because they're just so sweet! Yes I must be hormonal. Just because i'm mad and have my tree up doesn't mean everyone else has to otherwise I look at them like they are pure evil haha. I just don't like the people that make nasty remarks to me about it being too early.
I think big credit to everyone who can wait long enough not to put their tree up LOL. And Lunar.. dear Lunar you nutter.. i love your sig
:D:D When you coming round to do mine!!
