When will you decorate?

Was Christmas Eve when I lived with my mum, but now I have hub and kids it's normally first weekend of Dec. I keep threatening to put them up earlier, but I won't.
When we can have a real tree I suspect things will change, but for now we have a fake thing as my youngest is 2 and I only want a real tree when I know the kids aren't going to keep messing with it!
Really looking forward to it. We've got a special family day on 8th December too. TGI's and then a trip to Westonbirt Arboretum for their winter thing.:rudolf:0 -
Normally, I put my tree up in December but this year I shall make an exception and put it up next week before my birthday on the 29th. I feel all Christmassy today as the ground here in Birmingham is blanketed with snow.0

Mine usually go up about two weekends before Xmas and stay up until twelth night.
We'll decorate with DS (2 1/2) this year and I can't wait to see his face. Got most of my presents done now, just off to order wine and get more tesco clubcard points for it!DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft

Ours will go up on the 1st December (then we'll be visiting the local Christmas market on 2nd), and will stay up till after my birthday (3rd Jan) when I'll cry cos I won't want to take them down0

Im feeling so festive reading all the replys, im glad others cant wait to decorate. This will be mine and oh's first christmas since we moved in together. my oh is hindu so one of the conditions so living together was that we would share each others festivles! neither of us is especially religious and nothing in the world would make me give up christmas. He is really looking forward to his first christmas so i want to make it really special.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0

Im ready now - but will put them up on the evening of the 30th November, so its all ready for the 1st.
Ive already written my xmas cards, bought most of my xmas food (just need the fresh stuff), wrapped all the presents - and only have my mum and her partner to buy for!!! I hate having to go shopping in December, too many crowds and panicky people, i like to get it all done so that i can relax and enjoy the Christmas period!0 -
we usually decorate in bits and bobs from about the second week in december when kids start to bring things they have made home from school, tree up a week before christmas, and everything comes down apart from one decoration, on new years eve. I love packing it all away having a big clear up and starting the new year all fresh, tidy and clean (with three kids that does not last long!!) then on 12th night the last decoration is packed away -which fulfils my suspicious upbringing!!0

Ours go up on the 1st too. We have an 18 month old toddler so it will be great fun this year trying to keep the tree up!! Lol.0

I'm assuming not many real trees, then
Ours is still in the ground, will be dug in the week before Christmas, and will go up on the Saturday before Christmas. The whole family gets together once it's dark, we put on some festive music, and have a few glasses of wine.
2 reasons for this - I love the smell of a fir tree, and I'd be well sick of it by Christmas if I had it up before then :rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
