Usually a few days before Xmas and down again New Years Day. We always had a real tree when we were kids and my father would take us out to the bush and get one Xmas Eve & we'd all decorate it that night.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Well as horace knows mine is already up :D i had mine up on the 1st november as me and hubby were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and we didn't have much money so we spent the day putting up the decs ready for when the kids got home. We both love love love christmas. I have got pics of it on my blog if you dont believe me :D

Oh Horace.. I didn't know you lived in Birmingham :D That is where I was born, moved to Telford and now live in Tipton. Are you going to go to the christmas market:D

its all snowy here and I love it :D:D:D:D:D

:D :rudolf: I have a real dilema this year. Want to put the christmas tree up the first weekend in dec (daughter is having a sleep over for her twelth birthday so may get them to do it!!) as we are away for christmas and I love the tree and all the decs.. Trouble is we are away untill the 8th of Jan. I know it's silly but the tree should be down on the 12th night and the last thing we need is bad luck.. (start a new job in the new year) Please tell me i'm just being silly..

  • No set date in this house for putting up decs :(:o

Usually its when there is nothing on tv or nothing to do and eldest decides to goes up into the loft to see whats up there and brings down the tree lol
It is always however miraculously up before my birthday on 15th ;) and doesnt come down until January at some point.
Its only been me and my 2 children over the past 3 years so we tend to take things in our stride, unfortunately apart from the food, its kind of like a normal day in this house.

3 years ago we didnt even have xmas due to personal circumstances so the tree had a year of that year ! lol

  • Will put ours up the weekend of the 8th. Not too soon that the novelty wears off but enough to get us all in the crimbo spirit the 2 weeks leading up to xmas.

    Cant wait!

Usually about 2 weeks before christmas in our house, but just noticed on our calendar that weekend we have some friends visiting. So it will probably be Monday 10th in the evening. I cannot wait this year, ds is 4 so is REALLY excited and asks me every day is it December yet. My other ds is just turned 1 so doesn't really understand yet .... should be fun trying to stop him pull the tree on top of himself.

My big dilemma is where to put the tree. It will be our first christmas in our new house (yay!!) and we are lucky enough to have a lounge at the front of the house and a sun room at the back (next to dining room). Still mulling it over.....

Saturday 8th December for us too as it's my weekend off work. DH doesn't like it up too soon and it will be down on 12th night.
