Parking Control Management Tickets £2000

Hi guys,
Advice would be great. To cut a long story short, I know there's a lot of posts on this.
I parked outside my address which was operated by PCM, in a few months I'd amassed 10 seperate tickets for not displaying a permit, of which I was never aware of as the letters had gone to an old address I hadn't updated with DVLA, and no tickets were affixed to my vehicle. The first I knew about it is when my ex phoned me up and said the bailiffs DCBL were at the address looking for me. I've since moved address again.
This tickets are Mar-July 2018.
The first 5 went to court and I was given a CCJ, obviously all paperwork went to an old address so I was none the wiser. I've since paid £255 to go to court to defend these tickets, and remove the CCJ.
The next 5 tickets I appealed and these were rejected, I then didn't get round to paying so these have now recently been passed over to TRACE Recovery.
What do I do, I get the whole "Ignore the debt recovery scammers" advice, which I will do, but this is now starting to add up to ridiculous amounts. The ones with the court are in excess of £2000, the latest five to go to TRACE are £160 each.
I need advice on how to handle court and what to say, my only defence is I didn't know about the tickets as no tickets were affixed and the paperwork went to an old address.
Please help.

When you say you parked outside your address what do you mean? Did you have an allocated space for example?
Were you a tenant or an owner? Was there anything in your lease/tenancy agreement about parking and the use of permits?
Sorry to ask these questions but more background about the situation/offences (?) might help people help you.0 -
Have you amended your address on your cars V5 for this new address?
If not any more tickets you may have got will continue to go elsewhere.
Best write to the parking company involved and tell them of your new address - no hinting at who was driving etc
And read the newbie thread for guidance

Have you read this?
https://parking-prankster.blogspot.com/2016/11/residential-parking.html
Nearly al "own space" claims lose at court because the leasee/tenant will have a lease/AST which overrides the so call contract of the scamming PPC. It is called "Primacy of Contract". They cannot offer you a service which you already have by virtue of the lease/AST.
What does your lease/AST say about parking? Does it mention the requirement to display a permit and/or to pay a third party if you do not? Does it grant you the right to peaceful enjoyment of your property? Read some of these

Read Daniel San's thread
If they do take you to court and your lease/AST takes primacy be sure to lodge a counter claim for trespass/harassment. Also, get your MP on side
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
When is your set aside hearing?
Are you prepared, have you read here about how to get a CCJ set aside, what to say to satisfy the Judge?
It's all in the NEWBIES thread post #2 near the bottom of that second post...with linked examples of success and what to say.
Remember the set aside hearing is merely to set aside the CCJ not defend the case as such, but you DO need to understand what your defence will be as it's likely you will be asked, so the Judge is satisfied you have prospects of success, so we'd like to help.
Please answer my questions above, and the questions from NeilCr and tboo.
What stage are you at with the second round, have Gladstones sent a LBC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Surely these are entirely separate matters. You can be issued with a CCJ without you knowledge, but decide to pay the PCN, if, say, you think it was justified. .You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I know what you mean and they are separate matters, but the Judge will want to be satisfied that:
(a) the N1 claim was never served, and
(b) the Defendant has more than 50% prospects of successfully defending the claim once it is reset.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi guys. Apologies. I've had a nightmare. Only just got back on here. Right, my set aside case is scheduled for August 16th I believe. No idea what to say apart from being honest and explaining I never received any letters or communications because everything was sent to a new address. I will happily read and prepare if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I've no idea of what to expect at court, the current debt is approx £2000 according to DCBL.
With regards to the second set of 5 tickets, I appealed and these were rejected, I've not paid since and I've now had a letter from Trace Recovery for each fine being bumped upto £160 each. Totalling £800.
I lived at the property but was never aware of having to display a permit, I think there were signs up. But quite high.0 -
I need to have a defence ready for court in August but what will this do?
Also do I continue to ignore Trace Recovery now. I phoned them and offered to pay a settlement just to clear but they refused saying my only option was to lay £50 pcm for 16 months to clear. I'm not prepared to do that.0 -
So just to recap. I've got 2 separate cases of 5 tickets each (10 tickets) with PCM for parking without displaying a permit dating back to Mar-Jul 2018. The first 5 went to court in December 2018 where I was given a CCJ. DCBL then attended my old address, where the tickets occurred and only then was I ever made aware of all this, when my ex phoned me up to tell me. All of the correspondence went to my old Address that DVLA supplied them with.
I then learned about the second case of 5 tickets also, which is now currently sat with Trace Recovery at £160 per ticket, before being passed to Gladstones Solicitors, imminently.
I need to get my logbook changed over to my new address which I will do this week. I'm unprepared with regards to court and have no idea what to say in August when I have my set aside case. (Never been in this situation before.)
I'm unsure of what to do with these latest 5 tickets with Trace. The original tickets were £60 each. Now have gone up to £160 each. Will be passed to Gladstones imminently.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am back now and will reply to any questions. Really appreciate any help and guidance. Will

We are still unclear about the nature of the land on which you parked. Is it communal land, demised to your property, allocated to your property, first come first served, or what?
You have ignored our questions in post number 2 and 4, unless we have all the facts we cannot advise youYou never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
