Ooh a smart meter... I'd love one (I do love a good gadget), but I highly suspect it will tell me nothing I don't already know. I don't tend to leave everything on/plugged in anyway...
I'd be interested if you get any insights from it.2025 decluttering: 3,979🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Ooh, excellent work on the game streaming! I keep meaning to sort out our smart meter - I had one installed at our old house, but it was one of the old ones that becomes less smart again once you switch suppliers. I don't think it had any kind of display on it anyway though, just fired stuff straight through to the energy company. Apparently our new supplier here are doing the new ones, so might just get that sorted out, thanks for the reminder!4

Thanks Jess and cheery. I was a bit reluctant to have one and in all honesty I still don't see the point in them. The supplier still uses your meter readings from the boxes, so it seems it's really just there to remind you to turn stuff off, which being MSE I already do! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

If it’s going that well jessy then why not go part time and do the streaming? That sort of thing is only going to get more popular I would have thought, not that I’m an expert of course, just learning through the herd of twenty somethings living here at the moment 😆
MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
Hey Jessy, just caught up. Sorry to hear you've not been well but glad things have improved and work is changing for you.
That's an impressive amount of money for playing games(DH has finally managed to order a PS5, so we're looking forward to that arriving - I know there won't be judgement here about spending money on that!)

Why not try streaming during some of your next holiday?
That should give you a feel for doing longer/more sessions and the audience for it.
Must admit, does sound exciting if it works for you.If it's not adding up, compound it!2 -
Thanks guys!
You are right, there has been quite the surge in people streaming NG. I've been doing it for a few years now so have built up a little community of people all over the world. I have people I call friends in the USA, Australia, Hungary, Singapore and Russia. It's really quite amazing.
Good to hear from you vix! We have been tempted by the PS5 but the scalpers are out in force at the moment! I hope you enjoy it! Also there is a game called It Takes Two which is about a married couple that get stuck in a video game and have to work together to get out, just in case you and DH want to play a co op game together!
Thanks Grogged, I usually do 2-3hrs on an evening three times a week and then 5-6hrs a day on a weekend, I usually get in the high teens and 20s for viewers. It depends what sort of game you're playing and the time depends on who's awake around the world. Early streams you get EU and Australians. Later streams you get EU and Americans. You just need to find that sweet spot!
I played a horror game Friday night for 2hours and earnt £50! People like to see you jump and squeal it seems! 😂
In other news we got a £200 bonus from work which was nice but was to soften the blow of only a 1% pay rise this year. I wrote quite a detailed email to my boss about why I deserved more and managed to negotiate a £1.5k a year pay rise. It's not as much as I wanted but it's something!
I've made a payment of £570 to the mortgage so I am now under £59k and won't go back over! I also have £2k in my savings. Feeling good at the momentMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
