Certainly been busy! 😃
Brilliant news on justifying your pay rise as the positive knock-on from that is immense for your future.
And you managed a great OP, another K ticked off!
Who knew jump and horror scares could earn money!😱
I'd make a fortune as I'm such a jump scare wimp!🤣If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -
Hi guys!
Haven't update in a little while, but there hasn't been a huge amount to report. The mortgage is now at £57,800. I only have £88.13 of my allowance left so I can't really make anymore overpayments until it resets 27th June, I'll just make a small one when the interest gets added on to take it down to the nearest £10.
Last time I reported how I'd got my pay rise and I'm now on £21K pa. Well, the customer care job I currently do which I will be moving from to do order processing full time (I currently do both jobs, which is incredibly stressful) has been externally advertised at £21K-£24K! Quite the slap in the face considering how much I had to justify my pay increase to £21K. It's made me finally realise that I am just a number to them and that I really need to do a job I enjoy. I am now fully committed, even more than before to get this mortgage paid off asap, so I can tell them where to go!
My streaming is still going well and I'm making £200 a month, I think if I were to do it full time, I would make enough to live on and pay the bills. I just want to make sure that I have enough to cover 6 months worth of bills before I decide to take that big step and do it.
We shall see what the next few weeks brings as to what I decide to do.

Great work on the OP's, will you be saving up between now and June and making a bumper one then?
I would speak to your boss about the job ad and say how disappointed you feel about it and that it's making you feel unmotivated. Take a copy of it with you to show them. Presumably you'll be responsible for training this person as well? Has it been advertised direct by the company or through an agency? I had one of my team in my old job come to me to complain that the exact same job as theirs was being advertised for more than they were on, cue me being stunned and quickly getting on to the agency to get them to revise it, as that was definitely not the salary on offer 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

That's great news on the mortgage and the streaming!
If it were me I'd be asking them if your old job is worth between £21-24k, what is your new one worth?
Clearly it's worth more than your old one.
I'd be calm and reasonable about it, but at the same time make the point about the advert and how it makes you feel and the message it sends.
If all else fails, apply for your old job!😆If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -
Thanks SC and Grogged.
I spoke to my boss about it on Friday, he said he wasn't aware of the amount it had been advertised at because HR had done the advert. It's straight from the company so no agency involved. My boss also said it would be unlikely they would get the full amount but that still means they could get the same amount that I am on and yes, I would be training them. I feel like I've been kicked while I am down too many times by this company and it is time to move on.
I will be saving up the money I would usually use for overpayments along with the money I get for my birthday at the end of June to make a nice big OP 😃

I was able to make a small OP to the mortgage today after the interest was added on and then the normal monthly amount was taken off. The mortgage is now £57,600.
I finally managed to get back on Onepoll this week, I'd been struggling for months and complained to them several times. Once logged on, I was able to cash out £25, I'm just waiting for that to come into my PayPal account although I'm not holding my breath after how rubbish it's been since they revamped.
We booked Friday off work and we're enjoying a nice long weekend. I have to say, I'm not looking forward to going back Tuesday but needs must at the moment.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I think it took about 2/3 weeks for me to cash out from One Poll. I'm persevering with them (despite promising myself I wouldn't 🤣) and it does seem to be building up again quite quickly. At least £25 feels like a proper reward when you get it!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I had completely forgotten about one poll. Logged in and have £14.50, so need to remember to keep logging in and will see how quickly I can get to my £25.
Good to know that they are still paying out.

It's been a few weeks since my last post so thought I would update, but in all honesty there's not a lot to report.
Mortgage is £57,446.96, I've done a small overpayment to round down, but still waiting for my 10% allowance to reset at the end of June.
I've got £2,300 in savings, I'm planning on using £1000 of this plus any birthday money I get to make a nice payment when my allowance does reset.
I've had my first Covid jab and my second is booked in August. BF hasn't been able to have his yet due to a clerical error. Someone else with the same name has had there's done but it has been put on BFs records! We've informed the GP and this should be removed by the end of next week, but still very inconvenient!
Work has just been horrendous and three weeks ago I handed in my notice. I didn't have any plans or another job to go to, but after basically being called incompetent by one of the directors (not my boss) I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Well, as I am currently doing two jobs this made them panic a bit and two days later I had my own temp assistant and a replacement for the customer care role had been hired to start 7th June. I was talked into staying by my boss with a promise of a new qualification in planning and scheduling which is a big part of the second job I do and which I will be doing full-time once I hand off customer care to the new person. I'm not holding my breath though, the last replacement they hired only lasted half a day, she went on her lunch and never came back! 😂
Only time will tell, but I told my boss there is no way I'm going to do two jobs again, not when there are people getting paid a lot more than me and seem to sit and twiddle their thumbs all day!I
Prolific and swagbucks have been lucrative for me the past couple of weeks, which is nice. I also finally got my money from onepoll, God knows why they take so long compared to everyone else. I have also cashed out from panelbase.net. I must start to keep a better track of these so I can decide if they're still worth doing. Streaming has taken a bit of a back seat due to work drama but I will hopefully be less stressed when the new person starts and able to be more consistent with it.
Now back to watching The Mandolorian for the second time! BF has promised me a baby yoda for my birthday and I'm going to be putting up a small corner shelf in our bedroom just for him 😃Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Oh wow good for you Jessy! it can’t be nice working there, but easier if you have an exit plan of being mf and they are taking steps to improve things, time will tell I guess 🙂
