Thanks Cheery
Well, strangely enough, another quiet weekend! 😂
I've changed the bedding and done the washing. All dried and put away.
I called the electricity/gas supplier and had words with them! Last month when I contacted them about fitting the gas meter on the side of the house, they said I had to agree to a tariff first, so did all of that at a monthly DD of £29, not tied into a contract so can leave at anytime, thought that's fine, I'll do a proper comparison when it's all fitted and change provider to someone else cheaper if possible. This month the DD goes out, so I call them to find out when they are going to fit the meter, the response 'We're only dealing with existing customers, we won't fit a meter until the lockdown is over'. I am an existing customer you numpty!! Had a long conversation with the numpty, who said it was to keep their workers safe, told him I appreciate that but it's the meter outside on an external wall that needs fitting and they're taking my money for a service they're not providing yet! Anyway, we agreed that they would reduce my gas DD from £29 to £5 and reduce my electric DD by £5 aswell. Not a terrible result but not ideal. I just want the meter fitting so that as soon as lockdown ends, I can arrange for the plumber to come and for the new gas boiler to be fitted and to dispose of the hideous electric one!! Ugh, why does nothing ever go to plan?!
I finally managed to get a T3sc0 delivery slot! We will have some shopping coming Tuesday, I say some because I doubt very much that we'll get everything but something is better than nothing!
We get paid on Friday. I have just over £100 left when the rest of the bills clear this week. It means I can make a small OP to the mortgage, once the interest has been added on. I still want to make small OPs where possible so I feel like I'm still working towards my goal of being mortgage free by the time I'm 40 (June 2026)

Another quiet few days here. We got our T3sc0 delivery, only two things missing, which I managed to get from the local C0 0p, so there's enough food in the house to last two weeks.
I bought my nephew's birthday present from Am4z0n, some Pokemon bits. Was only £15, so didn't overspend. I've got some wrapping paper and will do that tomorrow.
We got our wage slips yesterday, I'm £200 down on furlough to £1100, but for not doing anything for a few weeks, I'm not going to complain. It's enough to cover the bills and have some left over for savings and a small couple of overpayments. One for when the interest gets added on next week and a second for after the normal payment in May has come off.
We're waiting for our weekly update from the M.D. to see if there's any news about going back to work but I can't see it happening for another couple of weeks at least. I'm trying not to worry about if I'll have a job to go back to, it's out of my power and considering how much I dislike my job, maybe it would be a blessing in disguise!

I can’t remember when you were furloughed Jess (all time has merged into one), but the minimum time period for a furlough is three weeks, I believe, so you’ll have to be off for that long whatever (sister’s partner’s company furloughed too many so he’s had to work long shifts until they’re able to unfurlough (?) them).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I feel strange getting money for not working at the moment Jessy, especially when others are still going in, thank goodness for it though and for most of us here being able to cope well on less if we have to 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2

Thanks Vix. That doesn't sound good about your sisters partner. I've been furloughed since 27th March and from the email we received from the M.D. last night, I will be for another 3 weeks at least.
I know what you mean NG! I wonder if this is how rich people that don't have to work and live off the interest on their millions feel all the time! 😂 I am thankful they put the furlough in place, and it definitely shows the importance of having an emergency fund in place for such unforeseeable events.
Wages came into my bank this morning. My EF currently stands at £5636.48. When bf sends his 'keep' of £300, I'll put that straight into the EF and hope to have it up to £6k by the end of May with TTs.
Unfortunately, the shoe cabinet in the hallway has broken. We fixed it a few weeks ago but it has now given up completely. It's one of those ones where when the door is opened it tilts down (if that makes sense) and the cheap plastic mechanisms have just broken with use. I've ordered a replacement cabinet from am4z0n that should come next week, it has normal doors and a drawer at the top, so will hopefully be more durable. It was £45, so not a huge spend.
I am going to be very vigilant over the food spend this month, lockdown has encouraged a lot of treats and this needs to stop for the sake of our waistlines as well as our wallets!

Just spoke to the mortgage company to double check my overpayment allowance and I am pleased to say our figures match!
I have an allowance left of £2,955.99 that I can overpay until 26th June. It will then reset on the 27th June to what the new 10% allowance will be for the next year. It is a bit of shame that it isn't a few days later because my birthday is the 30th June and I could have used any birthday money as a final overpayment for the year, oh well! Now I just have to resist the temptation of using my EF to overpay that amount!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Turning it round the other way, any birthday money could be used to get off to a flying start for next year?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

The interest has now been added on and the mortgage amount is £66,602.09. I've done an overpayment of £52.09 just so I feel like I'm making some progress. I will see how things go over the course of the month and decide then the next payment amount to make, it really depends on what's happening with work.
The replacement shoe cabinet arrived yesterday, so today will be spent building that and taking apart the broken one.
My parents were kind enough to buy us a pizza from the local takeaway last night and leave it on the doorstep. It was a lovely treat and I'm very grateful that I have such amazing parents.
I received a renewal letter yesterday for the dogs insurance. It's gone from £16 to £20 a month. After doing a comparison search on a few websites, the renewal price was the cheapest for the same cover, so I'll leave it with the same provider.
Lunch will be jacket potato and coleslaw and tea will be fajitas. Yummy!

I cashed out £5.05 from Prolific this morning. It's gone straight in to the EF.
The new shoe cabinet has been built and the broken one dismantled. It's better than the other one as it's a little bigger and has a drawer, handy for the dog's poop bags!
I've been productive today and melted down some leftover candle wax and made a new candle. I then used some stuffing from an old dog bed that was going in the bin, and made a new pillow with some lining material I had and then a pillow case with some dachshund material I had. It was nice to use my sewing machine again, didn't cost anything and the dogs have a new bed.
