WE HAVE GAS!!!
The gas men dug a hole and connected it yesterday and then some different guys came to fill the hole they'd made this morning. Just need the third of lot of guys to come back and fetch the traffic lights and road stuff tomorrow and it's all done! Yay! I will then call my gas supplier tomorrow to arrange a date for them to come and put the meter on the side of the wall.
Feeling a little bit better today, so hopefully I'm over the worst of this cold. I've been drinking plenty and slept quite a bit. Not having to go to work has certainly helped!
I've now read all my gardeners world magazines and will drop them round at my grandparents house later when I walk the dogs. I haven't done anymore of my pigsaw yet because I found I was a bit disappointed with it. It's a great jigsaw and I love it BUT I did all the outside and found that even when I'm 100% certain the pieces go together they don't seem to stay joined and therefore keep coming part. It's quite annoying and has put me off carrying on with it. I think I'll give some of the inside a go and see if that helps it stay joined together more.
When reading South Coast's diary this morning, I found I'm not the only one finding not overpaying their mortgage difficult right now. I'm desperate to use some of the money I've saved this month to overpay my mortgage, but I know it's not the sensible thing to do in these uncertain times. I've stamped my feet in annoyance because patience doesn't appear to be my strong point! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Ha! Stamping my feet was exactly what I wanted to portray! I was disappointed there wasn't an emoji that adequately summed it up, but glad I got my point across 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hope you are feeling a bit better and great you will have gas! I’ve got premium bonds and class then as my big savings. I can get to them if needed but not instantly so it removes the temptation to dip in. I also have it set up to reinvest any winnings so that’s my “interest” payment. I won £25 in April and don’t have a huge amount of bonds; someone has to win so why not me!SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)3

Was greeted with a lovely surprise this morning when I opened the curtains, my zinnias and cosmos are starting to grow! Yay!
The compost I ordered for my window box has arrived and BF is mounting it under the kitchen window today. I'm excited! It's nice to be able to do a bit of gardening without actually having a garden.
Dog 2 has had diarrhoea for the past 24hrs. Dog 1 is fine so I've come to the conclusion Dog 2 has eaten something she shouldn't have done. She is on a little bit of scrambled egg at meal times but I will have to call the vets tomorrow if there is no improvement (She is not asking to go out as much as yesterday so I'm hoping she's over the worst of it).
I cashed out £5.85 from Prolific last night. I've followed the advice of lovely fellow MSE's and kept a tab open on my tablet and have been checking for surveys several times a day and it has paid off.
We finally had our Indian takeaway last night and boy did it taste amazing!!! We haven't had one since we went to the restaurant side of it on Valentines Day.It was also free because BF's mum had transferred him £25 out of the blue so we could treat ourselves to a takeaway Monday night (So she can be nice, who knew!)! We weren't able to get one until last night though because they have reduced the days they are open on. BF took some change as a tip when he went to collect it, for some reason their card machine doesn't ask if you want to leave one, although I've heard cash is better to leave as tips anyway.
I also finished the Christmas cross-stitch that I didn't finish before Christmas last year, so it is all ready to be given to my grandparents this year. I'm really pleased with it
Have a lovely day, take care and stay safe x

Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend
Not a lot to report, we obviously didn't go anywhere, so just stayed in and watched a lot of films on the netflix. I keep logging into the mortgage account, longing to make an overpayment just so I feel like I'm making progress but resist and then think when this is all over I can do a bigger payment with the money I've saved.
I'm currently working on a dinosaur cross stitch birthday card for my nephew, who's birthday it is at the beginning of May. I've ordered a mixed pack of birthday cards from Amazon as I haven't got a new printer yet so can't make my own and the local shop is running low. I've got a few birthdays towards the end of this month. BF has his sister's birthday but that's up to him to sort out (it's been made clear I'm not well liked by BF's family so I shall not make any effort for them anymore).
I really feel like I'm not saving much money in lockdown! I've bought quite a bit for the outside of the house in my flower trough, some seeds and plants, a bird feeder that sticks to the window and some sunflower hearts for the birds but I do think it looks good now it's done. This is all stuff I wanted to do at some point anyway to make the house feel more like a home (it was converted from a bank and was then a rental so never really a proper home) but with such uncertainty maybe now is not the best time. Oh well, if anything this crisis has shown that life is for living!
