I am the same @Jessy103 - I don’t have ornaments or pictures although that may change as I’m going to really try and make this house more homely. I do have lots of some ‘things’ eg my book collection, cameras for my photography- but there are only certain books I’ll keep forever - the rest I am letting go of as I read.So it may change for you as you move into your forever home x
i do consciously try and have less items and am always doing a declutter of some sort.1st May 2025

Well, no rest for the wicked and I didn't have this morning off, maybe next weekend! I did two cleaning jobs this morning instead.
This week was a bit rubbish to be honest. Work bestie is getting ready for going off soon for her operation and then radiotherapy, possibly chemotherapy and so it's been discussed who will cover her work for her. I've been asked to do one half of her job, so I have sat with her, written lots of notes and then practiced a bit, all good. Then there's the other half of job which is deliveries. This should be covered by her manager, who started at the beginning of this year. Well, he's turning out to be as much use a chocolate teapot! We agreed he would do it and I would help out if required, arranged with work bestie for us to both sit with her the next morning to go through it and take notes. He only rang in sick that morning and the next and didn't come back for the rest of the week! She's only in Monday and Tuesday before going off and if he's not back then muggins here will end up having to do it all 🙄
Sometimes I think of paying this place off and then jacking in that job and trying the cleaning full time. Only problem is we'd be stuck here for longer, but sometimes I think I'd be happier with that than dealing with the stress of that place 😔
Anyway, apart from that everything else has been ok, cleaning jobs done, brothers birthday card and present bought for tomorrow. The plastic container boxes have arrived, so I can have a look at packing some bits up. Washing is done and now drying and tomorrow will be going out for a walk with the dogs, delivering brothers card and present and then streaming in the afternoon 🙂Mortgage Balance as of September 2025 £11,700

That is well naff about the work colleague, can't you make a point of training him when he does make in to work? Don't let him get away with it! It sounds like you are looking after yourself a bit more tomorrow?
Have you decided yet where you want to live, I know there are limited jobs where you live I am just wandering for more opportunity could you move elsewhere. However you have had that job a long time and it would be a shame to not stay there after such a big commitment also, you don't want to go from the frying pan into the fire! I did that it was not great!
However a risk taken can sometimes be rewarding.

Definitely when he's back you just train him by telling him what you were told and photocopy your notes for him. Its already ridiculous you are being asked to cover an extra half job that it takes somebody half their working week to do. I don't see how you can possibly help out with the other half as well? Its the management responsibility to make sure what needs to be done is done. That doesn't mean just allocating work out and expecting it to magically happen.
Ask me how i know....

A nice chill Sunday morning here. I got up and walked the dogs at 6:30am and came back to bed where we still are. DH has made me a brew and some pancakes for breakfast. Might just stay here all day! 🤣
I ordered the shopping last night and a strange thing happened, I was able to book a free delivery slot for this afternoon. Its strange because the delivery subscription I pay is only for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so very odd that it was letting me book today. I've taken advantage of it anyway!
I've also made a £100 overpayment to the mortgage with my cleaning money from this week, so it is now £11,800 😀
