Thank goodness for adult only hotels - I enjoy breaks with my 7 year old daughter, but some parents let their kids run riot when they manage to escape for a week.
Running around, screaming, being left to have tantrums surrounded by other holidaymakers - no thanks!

Hotels free of other people’s badly-behaved crotch goblins are a great idea.
  • We love the concept of an Adult only hotel and have stayed at one in the past which was wonderful., Being in a hotel with no children is real heaven. However the adult only hotels do tend to be at the higher end of the market and are extremely popular. All seem to be 4 or 5 stars establishments.. Unfortunately at the moment we cannot afford to stay at one of these hotels and it is very rare to get a last minute bargain deal at on of them. Hopefully in the future There will be more Adult only hotels opened, maybe some 3 star ones which could make them more affordable for us.

Not a adult only hotel as such, but the DB San Antonio in Malta has the 10th floor rooftop pool, restaurant and bar (open in the evening too) which is only open to adults, even in the high season.
  • We stayed at the adult only hotel H10 Gran Tinerfe in Costa Adeja in Tenerife earlier this year, which was excellent travelling on a Thomas Cook package holiday. H10 does have a website listing all its Adult only hotels. Also On The Beach website has a list of Adult only hotels. The benefit of staying somewhere with no children was brought home to us with a jolt of suffering a nightmare flight when we were seated near some screaming children/babies.the unbearable noise continue throughout the flight. There was absolutely nothing we could do about it except grin and bear it. We could not wait to alight the aircraft and get to our our Adult only paradise!!!

I don't think I have ever stayed in a child friendly hotel. Ive been places where there have been a few babies in prams, but not toddlers and upwards

I find picking a small hotel with no facilities other then a pool and restaurant works well when looking at the cheaper end of the market. Most families seem to want places where everything is laid on for them, including kids clubs

It's a shame the DB San Antonio is situated in down market Bugibba though.....endless noise, mainly construction and destuction all over the place.

Have you noticed the big hotel opposite....The Dolmen. If you'd been staying in the DB San Antonio when The Dolmen was being semi-demolished and rebuilt the San Antonio's pool would be full of building dust 24/7.

Never seemed to have an issue in August 2017 when I was there.

It wouldn't have been as the work on The Dolmen had been completed by then. It was started with very little notice, and without much regard for neighbouring hotels, or anybody else.

There is so much construction and demolition going on in Bugibba and Qawra. It's difficult to get away from it, and with all the dust created it can be a real pain.

Malta used to be a beautiful easy paced Island, but not any longer.....trying to fit a pint into a half pint glass, all in the name of greed.

It's not known by many as Crane Island for nowt....not the bony bird type.
