P's in a smaller place,kc, and I suspect a quiet word to Library staff would ensure she has run of computer all day, even if her Lib does have a booking system. CAB can probably suggest things, too - and pania, you need to see them about signing on straightaway, too. It's important to have the date IMMEDIATELY logged in The System, officially an'all. You may not need it longterm, but tiding over's the name of the game while the Job Hunt's in progress.
How far did you get with that other Application?(Post 1310 and subsequent, 13/5)

You're right about the signing on, ampersand, especially long term - isn't there something about, even if you don't get benefits, they still pay your NI? My sister had that when she was on maternity leave (tho that was 20 years ago and more).

So sorry to hear your news P, I hope after the shock you'll be able to take this crappy period as a time to reflect, make plans and move on to bigger and better things.

Wishing you best wishes and support, Ev x

    Hi Pania

I hope things are a little better for you today - stage 1, get to the DWP and sign on - they may not pay you any money (as you should be due a redundancy payment) but they will pay your NI at the least - this means you will have full pension payments later on.

Stage 2, get to the CAB - work out if they sacked you or made you redundant!

Stage 3, write to the bar stewards and ask why you were let go? confirmation of whether you have been made redundant or sacked again!

Stage 4, look at various sites such as this http://www.delni.gov.uk/index/er/er-redundancy-payments-2.htm to work out where you stand.

Stage 5, and I understand this is under way - apply for jobs!

    Stage 6, look after yourself

Cross posting this to Hypno's thread as well

The varied job opportunities sound very interesting - good luck.. though it is thoroughly cr*ppy for this to happen, I think you will look back on it as a great opportunity and a new start.

Your (now ex) employers are a bunch of !!!!!! wuckfits though!

Take care.. hugs and an extra one for Hypno for being such a great support xx

Blimey guys have just had a second to log on and am now in the library in tears you lovely lot....

A, JB and mr a n other thanks for the phone calls and text messages they really were thoroughly appreciated.

And to all you guys who have posted thanks so much. i WILL be alright, i need to be, i must be! the loss of t'internet at home is a PITA but am doing ok.

So far I have filled out 3 applications, all for civilian police type roles that i know i will love and really enjoy and that pay me a steady wage also so i am out of the realms of being reliant on commission and the stress that this entails. As Hypno says, These aren't things that i would have thought of before but it has made me broaaden my thinking and do something for me instead.
I also popped into the local advisors office that some of you may remember i had an impromptu interview with last year and it appears that door may also be ajar still. Have been asked to deliver my CV then go back in for a proper interview.
(the keyboard on this pooter seems a bit dodgy so if the odd letter is missing i apologise.)

I have spoken to a fellow advisor this morning who has said that last week he had 2 appointments per day at a round trip of 250miles, some of which were within 2 hours of my location. So this appears that the exercise is a cost cutting measure and not that they are too quiet as i was advised yesterday. So i will definately be speaking to the CAB about that one and seeing if cost cutting is a good enough reason to boot someone out of a job.

I go through phases where i feel fine, then other times feel asthough i've been punched in the stomach and it hurts.

(going to post this so i don't loose it)
