    Hi Guys,

Well, today I have some sad news. I have today made the heartbreaking decision to part company with DP. I have to be honest and at the moment i just can't give him the time love or affection that he deserves. It will break my heart to loose him but i honestly believe that part of loving someone or something is knowing when to let go.
Due to his malnutrition as a baby due to leaving mum to early he has a condition in his back legs. During the winter his legs get very very stiff and lock out frequently. The only way to make this better is regular exercise ie daily and i just cannot provide him with this. He is also of the age where he needs to be broken in and be a little childs pony to have fun with, if he is left much longer he will spoil and that just isn't fair to him.
I'm not bothered about getting money for him, I just want him to be loved.
I think i have someone who wants him but part of me inside is shouting "NO!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!" but I just can't ignore the fact that I have to do the best by him.
I guess i'm kinda looking for someone to talk me out of it, to tell me not to do it, that if you love him, keep him, but that wouldn't be the right thing to do.
Off to cook tea and take my mind of it. Sorry to put a bit of a down on my poisitive diary!!!!

  • aww huge squidgy hugs for you P as that must have been a heart wrenching decision for you. If this other person has him would you still be abe to see him? Like you say its hard but when you love them you must do what is right for them and be selfless, even f it breaks your heart. On the positive front it will ease the financial worry for you and take the pressure off generally in terms of day to day things to do plus hopefully you'd still be abe to give him hugs & know he's well cared for. Only you know the definate right or not but I know it will be heartbreaking for you.
Good luck too for the job! Sounds great & impromptu interview better as you dont have time to get nervous! Rather you than me though - I'd be rubbish at it! Keep us posted!
Sorry to hear about puss cat LT - how is she now?
Too right about community - look what happened when the site went down! How's the runing going P?

Hi P..sorry to hear that you need to part with DP but it is for all the right reasons as hard as it..maybe you can still visit him in his new home sometime if you know the person...like you say he needs lots of exercise and time ...we all know how much you love him..there's no doubt about that....big hugs coming your way as it must've been a really hard deciscion...your £15k by christmas is looking good as well...well done xx

i've said already that a condition of them buying him would be that I can visit him once every 6 months and that if they had to sell him or it didn't work out for ANY reason that he comes back to me no questions asked. Think i would need to get it drawn up legally but i'm not sure. You're right though, you do have to be selfless, animals can't look after themselves and tell you what they want and i know his hip causes him pain in the cold.
Thanks for the good luck wishes re the job, got to do my CV this evening to get across to the guy! think i managed to get through it as i was in work mode and going out on site visits when i popped in there so I was already in the "sell yourself" mindset as it were. Running is going great thanks, did you get the Garmin sorted? Was scheduled for a run instead but sitting here with a glass of wine contemplating a bath instead!!
so, looking for positives!! 1) i'm going to have a nice hot bath
    2) my beloved will be happy and healthy
    3) I'll be a little heavier in pocket as a result
    4) things possibly moving on the job front
    5) January's payday will be fab i have heard,
    overpayments a go go!!

See out of the dark, there always comes light!!!!

I sold mine when I went to university (20 years ago). I know I made the right decision but I still have the odd pang. You just have to do what you think is right but I think it's a great idea to ask for visiting rights. Any real animal lover will be only too eager to do this to show off how well he's doing and how much they love him. Hugs again xx

If you weren't such a caring person you wouldn't consider what is best for your little pony rather what is best for you, and deep in your heart you know that he will love to be with children and what he needs in his life. If you can still visit him then it could be a happy medium you can see how he's progressing and know you made the right choice.

Hi taxi and LJ, thanks guys.
LJ do you still miss him? do you regret selling him? I'm just really concerned that i'll regret it straight away? It was a bloomin hard decision but i feel so guilty everytim ei see him standing in the field that I have on the odd occasion made an excuse not to pop up and see him.
Still hoping to meet that 15K target!! 8.24 to be paid off soon as my deal or no deal money comes through!!
