question to redsquirrel.... (hello sweetie by the way, hope you're ok.) Do you do the shop n scan thing at home? I seem to remember that you wrote about it? I've looked on the website and it says "invitation code"? are you able to invite people to join and if so do you get anything for it? let me know as quite keen to sign up to it... I'm the sad one in tescos that gets great delight from beeping her way through a whole trolley full of shopping at the DIY checkouts:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: i tell you, that were my vocation that were, and i missed it!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Morning Mrs :hello: Ooh I like the self service checkouts too :D Now, you've just reminded me about that - I did apply and was sent a code but when I tried to download the software it didn't work. Thought it might be cos I was using Firefox at home, and meant to try it in Internet Explorer - but guess who'd forgotten all about it until now! :o I'll have another go at it tonight and if it works I'll have a look to see if I can invite people.

Talking of referral type things did you ever get anywhere with BingoSky?

Glad to hear that your eye's improving, bit of a pain that you might need glasses but they're not that bad - I've had mine for errrrr getting on for 20 years, hated them when I was a kid but don't mind them at all now!

Not another one awake in the middle of the night - I did that too last night (thinking about work for goodness sake ) and so did OH at almost exactly the same time even though we were in different places!

    Have a nice easy day! ;) x

right here goes.... sit down strap in and buckle up for the ride.... as at the end of it it is guaranteed that you will be rollercoaster-face.jpg

    While i will be....

(and no, that isn't me... wish it was!!!:rotfl: )

Seriously, apologies for the rambles this is just to get all these bl00dy figures out of my head and keep track on where i am going and what i am doing.

OK, so, A number of scenarios for the money this month. But the best news... I shouldn't need all my money that I have with mum this month:T
so new list of debts and monthly payments

    Debts

Nationwide loan £100 (self administered DMP interest frozen)
    Northern rock loan £274 ( 7.9%)
    Dad £100 (:T ) bye bye welcome....:j
Nationwide CC £ 40 ( as for Nwide Loan)
Blair oliver scott £ 35 (ditto above)
Blair olive scott CC £ 26 (yep this one too)
Training debt £ 50 (interest free)

    Total monthly credit commitments. £625

Total out per month incl living expenses £1645.30.... yikes....:o

SO, this month (march) I am saving £45 on what would have been my welcome finance payment, I do not want to get used to having that money around... Buy out fee for mobile = £110, so, using the £45 i have from welcome + the £35 usual payment will leave me £30 to find for the rest of the buy out.
This would leave my total outgoings for this month as £1720....

I also have a feeling that as we are paying off welcome in a week or so that I won't be asked for the £100 this month, leaving me £100 extra to pay off the Nationwide CC, bringing it down comfortably to under the £900 mark but i'm not relying on this as i don't know.

I calculate that from next month onwards i will have an extra £80 to put towards my debt without taking myself over my limits. I also have another mini contract ending in june which will free up a further £42 per month (all stuff that couldn't be cancelled earlier)
so Nationwide CC will look like this
    march £40
    April- October £144

christ i soooo want to get it gone before that... Please come back commission...:o

I am falling soooo far behind on my 15k challenge that i am despairing of it being done, However I am confident that this job or new job the commissions will return and i will be able to start overpaying again. I don't think anyone could've forseen the effect on the industry northern rock would've had and i certainly wouldn't have been in the industry by choice when it happened, but it looks asthough financial services are picking up again ow and hopefully we will start to see increased business with this job or another very soon. I think within the next month or so I could comfortably start to pay about £800 off each month which would be fab:D
Right, so thats all the figures out of my head now, I think i am straight with what i am doing this payday and where it all needs to go, no wonder my brain wouldn't let me sleep!!!

I'm just about to rush off to the sowball and get a new debt free date....

  • Thanks Pania, things are slightly better. I just feel like i am going round in circles, sorting stuff out, because he won't and having to do it all-if that makes sense. I suppose it just really got to me at the weekend and i felt like wandering off and going on travels- alone! It doesn't help with stuff going on in the house at the moment and he is tired after work and travel all day, but he does absolutely nothing at home and its all down to me- the kids do help as well but certain stuff is just down to adults. Some of it stems down to me giving up full paid work to look after my dd2, not that i had a choice in this, but he couldn't live his life of Riley lifestyle.....The story is so familiar, and as i was looking on other folks threads, it really got me thinking that nothing has changed in over 20 years of marriage. Me rambling as well now.x

Not rambling at all, sometimes things just come out. I know what you mean re the OH scenario, just have a flick through, right there with ya kiddo... I know it isn't all men but us women on here seem to have a dirge of lazy, not helpful men around.. Thinking of trading mine in and having another go actually...:D
I think TBH sometimes our partners are thoughtless in as much as it's not that they don't care they just don't think what it takes to run a house, finances, work, children etc etc.
Have you actually ever completely let rip about it all? I know we try to swallow it and keep it all in but sometimes we need to say what we think and speak our mind. I remember OH pushing and pushing me and pushing me for a week and I turned round and just went RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! and let it all out, i've never seen him so shocked and it is the only time he has ever taken notice:rotfl:
feel free to rant anytime or PM if needs be. I live here doncha know!!!!

Spoke to work yesterday and asked them if they paid for eye tests and got laughed at!!!   I thought it was compulsory for companies that had staff using VDU's to pay for eye tests?

Hi Pania well you can laught right back at them because you are correct. Anyone who uses a VDU a large part of their work IS entitled to a free eye test paid for by their work. This is for Health and Safety reasons. And if your prescription has significantly changed SINCE you have been working with VDU's then I think they also have to contribute to the cost of glasses.

I guess there would be something on the Health and Safety website you can quote.

    cheers
