What a Year.....Climbing Back on the Wagon

Morning all!
It's a lovely day here for once - got out fairly early with the pup for a 2km walk then did a 5km run - won't break any records but did it slow and steady and felt ok.
Have also whizzed round Aldi and taken the dog to Pets at Home for food - going to try a different brand as he has a very whiffy bum of late
Spent £19 in Aldi and decided to try lots of their own brand toiletries - look a likes for well known brands - trying their Aussie equivalent shampoo and conditioner, Sanex equivalent shower gel, two different hand washes and fake Radox bubble bath, along with some face wipes - we'll see how they compare as they are less than half the price. Also got plenty of cleaning products and laundry stuff that I've used before and am happy to swap to.
Bought minimum food stuff as there's still some home made ready meals in the freezer to use up and I'm trying to be good with food. Was pleasantly surprised with the cost of just £19 but will reserve judgement until everything has been tried out on whether it's a good economy or not.
Need to cut the grass next when it's dried out in the sun a bit and dye my hair, then it's puppy school just after lunchtime. Busy day!0 -
Back and front garden lawns cut and look much better now - almost mowed a frog in the back garden, gave me the fright of my life when he jumped out of a patch of long grass! Survived unscathed thankfully.
Have also had a shower and tried out the new Aldi shampoo and conditioner and am very pleased with them - no difference to the original Aussie version apart from the smell is slightly different - nice soft, shiny clean hair - will buy it again.
Have also been to puppy school - it's just 2 weeks to the assessment day and he's great with some commands, not so great with others but tries hard, bless him. He's fast asleep now - concentrating for that long completely wears him out. Think it will be worse than GCSEs when he has to do his test for his certificate and to graduate to the next class up from reception class
Still have to dye my hair but everything else on the list is done and I've also had a go at washing my older running shoes as they stink but are way more comfy and lighter than the newer ones - they seem to have come out ok, just hope that the squishiness and cushioning hasn't been ruined by washing them. They were expensive and they've moulded to my feet so don't want to buy another pair if I don't need to.
Going to have a little sit down for a while as I literally haven't stopped all day and then tackle my roots. Another hated but neccesary job.....0 -
A postive start to the new term - I'm sure your work legs will be back by the end of next week. The walk and late lunch with your friend sounds lke a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure the mini woofer will pass the assessment with flying colours.0

Thanks Elnora - he's just an exuberant little pup that wants to be involved in everything
Just looked at my step counter on the Fitbit and I've done 36,000 steps over the two days of the weekend! Quite chuffed with that
Off to bed soon - long day ahead tomorrow0 -
Well another Monday done - long day with a long SLT meeting at the end but all done now.
Since being home I've taken the dog for a long walk, spoken with the dog walker, made tea from leftovers in the freezer and fridge, taken tea out of the freezer for tomorrow, cleaned through downstairs, cleaned the kitchen, done a bit of ironing for tomorrow and tidied away the clean washng.
Need a sit down now !!!
Going to watch Corrie and The Confession then try for an early night - another big day tomorrow0 -
Hope you're OK. Is it this Sunday when the mini woofer takes his test?0
