That’s very honourable of EXOH actually, sunk holiday costs are frequently a bone of contention for ex-couples; I suspect he is making sure to knock down all barriers to reconciliation if he’s playing the long game. You’re a good catch MT, he won’t have given up on you yet
Another vote for the holiday cottage, it sounds idyllic.
I have a confession: Your summer list inspired me so much and included so many things I should also do that I decided to copy and paste it! After editing, I have 18 items and the second confession is that I’ve only achieved 2 so farAnyway, a big thank you for it and I promise not to be so lazy in future :rotfl:

Thanks Triplechoc! I could do much better with the list myself - need to update it as I've done some more of the jobs now.
With regards to XOH and the money, I hadn't thought of that.... A reunion is not going to happen though.
Well, it's a disgustingly wet day here today. It's bouncing off the ground and forecast to last all day....
I took pooch out at 7am when it was lightly raining and, by the time we got back 30 mins later, we were both soaked. He's currently wrapped in a blanket fast asleep on the sofa recovering from his trauma
I phoned home this morning to tell them the relationship news and only dad was in - had a good long chat with him and he was extremely supportive. Mum will ring as soon as she's back no doubt, she'll do the inquest....
I'm not sure what to do with today with this horrible weather - there's no outdoor activity possible (I'll have to force the dog out later on for a walk). I might go to the cinema using a free ticket - Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is out but it's very long (2hrs 45mins) and I don't know if I have the patience for that even if it is Tarantino and Brad Pitt.....
I've stripped the bed, washed the bedding including the mattress protector and had a little tidy round - need to hoover and clean the wooden floors downstairs after the wet dog walk (seem to do this almost every day recently with the rubbish weather).
Going to give the conservatory a good clean too - I can't put it off any longer.
I might have to resort to doing the ironing - that's if total boredom sets in .....0 -
Just a quick update.... I've booked the cottage! 4 nights away - looking forward to it0

Good news about the cottage. I agree with joeyjimbles - a few treats would be good. You have some unexpected cash so it would be nice to have a few treats.

Thank you Joey and Elnora - I'm looking forward to it now its booked. Had a minor wobble straight after booking but mum talked sense into me. She's also been very supportive and said that she'd seen a big change in him over the last year. Parents eh? Can be a pain sometimes but love you unconditionally and only want the best for you....
Have finally deep cleaned the conservatory - looks much better now slthough it won't stay that way for long with the mini woofer. Have also hoovered and dusted and cleaned the inside of a couple of windows. Popped out to Sainsburys for the dog's favourite chews (only sold there) and on the way back, whipped the dog round the very wet and mucky park - was the only mad woman there and it's usually packed with dog walkers. Shows how bad the weather is. At least it's calmed him back down - he was starting to go a bit mad being stuck in.
Have dipped into this month's grocery budget, spending £5 - £95 to go if I keep it to the lower version of £100.
Will do a shopping list for Aldi tomorrow this afternoon - need to think about what I want to eat this coming week, perhaps a meal plan....an alien concept of late....
I withdrew £30 of my spending budget yesterday to have some money in my purse - £270 left.
Decided against the cinema - not in the mood for it today. Will have a little catch up telly/Netflix session instead if I get bored. I think I'll also investigate things to do whilst at the cottage.0 -
Evening..... What a washout of a day - it's still pouring...
Have walked the dog again regardless and got soaked - never mind....
Had a look into a few things I can do whilst away and found some good trips out. Even though I'm Welsh, I'm from the south and have never really spent much time in the north so there's plenty of new things to explore.
Shopping list and meal plan done, will pop out tomorrow for groceries. Have watched the first two episodes of Deep Water - quite good although I don't think I'm keen on Anna Friel, she seems to play the same part time after time.
Going to watch a bit of telly and try not to die of boredom....hopefully the rain will clear for tomorrow ......0 -
So glad you’ve booked the cottage MT, the weather forecast is set to improve over the next few days, although it can’t get worse!!! I’m sure you and woofer will have a great time x0

I'm really pleased that you booked the holiday MT - should be a fantastic time. I've never been to North Wales - well I have but I was 4 years old so I don't remember much. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
