It sounds odd, but I have heard scenarios where the GBP actually rises with Corbyn in power.
The theory being that utility nationalisation (at below market value) results in the UK govt owning more hard assets for less fiat GBP.
So it's a net positive effect for GBP - as the govt can exchange income (or sales if needed) of these hard assets in exchange for gold.
I'm not really convinced, because if more business leaves the UK, that will weaken the GBP.
But it's an interesting theory.0 -

Yes dreadful. Quarter on quarter of consecutive economic growth. The lowest crime rates in decades, inequality down, schools and the NHS funded, fewest rough sleepers in decades, adequate number of police, Sure Start programmes funded.
Yes, Labour governments are awful. Give me Tory austerity, poverty, failing public services, crime, zero hours contracts, potholed roads, the national debt ballooning, oh and Brexit.0 -
It seems to be to completely ignore the no confidence result and refuse to leave. Kind of like he did with his Foreign Secretary house after he quit without telling anyone at the conference he was meant to be hosting.
You mean like the no confidence vote by his own PLP that Khorbyn lost so massively and decided he would ignore?
And if you don't think that khorbyn is an idiot, why is there a white paper from a pro khorbyn think tank suggesting all private cars should be banned. Not just petrol/diesel ones, ALL private cars. That is not a green policy, that is a hate policy, a way of restricting people policy, a way of totally shutting down the country and stopping private enterprise policy. you might be able to function in London without a car, but do you seriously think there can ever be a good bus service out in the sticks?

What sort of equality do you want in incomes?
Do you want someone that works in, say, McDonalds, to be earning the same as the Director of a major company? Why would anyone go for the harder, far more demanding job in that instance? It simply wouldn't work in this country, more money is an incentive to do better.
Equality between races/sexes etc, the same pay for the same work, yes that should be in effect.
Equality can only go so far before it becomes a race to the bottom.
And that is just it, Labour wants to push everyone DOWN to the same level, the Tory's want everyone to work UP to the same level. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

No more boom and bust. Child poverty made illegal. A new law every day of the week. What a time to be alive.0 -

Because he's basically just playing politics. He would have opposed whatever deal the Tories came up with.
If politicians had put the interests of the country first, they would have all backed May's deal. It was always the only one on offer, flawed of course but the only sensible way forward.
The idea that its a terrible deal is just part of the political game-playing by both sides. What deal could possibly be any different given what we're trying to do?!0 -
May`s deal was not in the interests of a country that voted to leave the EU. Corbyn just wants the Tories to own Brexit so he can challenge them on domestic issues, the fact that it has dragged on so long with him sitting waiting on the fence has damaged him though.0
