Indeed, everyone makles mistakes. it's how those mistakes are then resolved.
You won't go far wrong if you stick with one of the Big 6 suppliers.
How you getting on with your mission to get this site closed down?
You pay for what you use no matter who the supplier, may as well be the cheapest.0 -

I'm sure some of those who followed that philosphy in the past and opted for the likes of Iresa, Extra Energy, One Select, Brilliant Energy et al may not agree
It's not all about basic price. Surely customer service you can trust (or even just contact) has a value too.0 -
Since when have the big 6 been offering exemplary customer service ? Both my daughter and I have used many smaller energy companies. Only one has gone bust whilst we have been with them and it was virtually painless, way less painful than paying 25% extra for my energy. Switching away also without problem, in fact my biggest getting my money back problem was from one of the big 6. The majority of the problems we see on here are mainly down to the customer not paying attention to their energy use, meter readings and bills.0

I don't know, since have the big 6 been offering exemplary customer service ???
Since when have one of the Big 6 gone bust, leaving customers moaning about awaiting final bills, credit refunds, etc?
Your daughter and you have only been with one supplier that's gone bust. Lucky for you that you both avoided the other 10!
What was even more amazing was that you and your daughter found the process "virtually painless". Sadly the posts by numerous other MSEers affected by suppliers appalling customer service and then them going bust suggests your findings are few and fae between
Just take a look at the historic feedback threads of the 'cheap' suppliers I mentioned above
But you already know the score, I'm sure
Here is a thread from last month you replied to from someone that left the cheap supplier, Extra Energy, 3 years ago and is now even being threatened with court action, despite that supplier ceasing to trade.

... and there's a link at the bottom saying the OP of that thread is not alone.
I see you are even having issues with your lastest supplier, Eversmart ... presumably chosen as you considered them 'cheap'

Stick with the Big 6, and you won't go far wrong
When a Big 6 called us about smart meters, we said no thanks, and asked them not to contact us again about them; if we ever change our mind, we'll contact them. They agreed.
They've not bothered us since about them.0 -
No need, as it seems every man and his dog are on here to save money, bar you.
Let me tell you, the worst experience I have had was with Npower. Says a lot for your big 6.Indeed, everyone makles mistakes. it's how those mistakes are then resolved.

I had a pretty poor experience with Scottish Power. Even GB Energy and IRESA were better even though they did go bust. However I've probably saved well in excess of £1000 since I've been with the smaller suppliers.
I'm with Eversmart at the moment and saving around £350 this year alone against the big suppliers.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Well, I've been with two suppliers who went under, GB Energy and Iresa. In both cases the transfer under SoLR went smoothly, all credit transferred correctly and the subsequent move from the SoLR to a cheaper supplier was fine.
It's human nature to complain when things go wrong, but keep quiet when things go right.
I have had no problem with the cheaper energy suppliers and the savings made are well worth any minor hassles.
I'm now with Eversmart on 11.7p/kWh fixed, and despite a glitch with their online billing (now sorted for me), I'm more than happy with them.0 -

Sorry to hear that. But I'm afraid there is an MSEer who has someewhere had a bad experience wuth EVERY supplier somewhere.
The feedback threads on many of the cheap suppliers speak volumes, especially most of the 11 that didn't survive.
At least there are 6 suppliers in the Big 6. If you didn;t like one of them, there is no need to tarnish the other 5 with the same brush.
Stick with the Big 6 and you won't go too far wrong0 -

Why? They all paid less than the big six and once they were transferred to (I think) Co-Op energy they were free to shop around for the cheapest supplier again.
I don't even shop around myself now, I have a company do it for me on my behalf, it really couldn't be easier-
