    UU:

African Pride Olive Miracle anti-Breakage Formula Hair Creme : WNBA, tried it as a product down shift, was too watery and not moisturising enough.

Mitchum women powder fresh deodorant and anti perspirant - WBA, HG

    GA to brother:

Dexe black hair shampoo x 4 sachets: Didn't dye my hair, perhaps more suitable for shorter hair

Will go holiday this weekend so hope to use up more products whilst away.
  • Sunny-Money -- I would recommend being ruthless. Try on the lipsticks and if they look bad toss them. Our skin changes and fashions fade, just toss any that don't make you look awesome. Nudes and reds can look great in store and often in real light are unforgiving.

If they are really old it might be safer to toss some lipsticks. I am more ready to toss lipsticks and mascaras as infection risk is higher.

Inapickle-- it is very appropriate about considering packaging and reusing. I use the concentrated shampoos so a bottle lasts ages. it is imperative to buy well- consider what we need and will use.

Dolly - the selection of vegan products has improved so much recently. it must make it easier to choose products you want.

Sunny- I often wonder if the girls on the counter are aware that they are loosing commission with their attitude. A lot of them seem to have a blindness to customers. They will not last long if they fail to hit targets. it is a bit like the sales assistants in "pretty woman". I know a lady who sold more than major outlets from a small counter. If the Charlotte Tilbury annexation by Estee Lauder goes a head; the ladies on the counter will really have to sell.

:T Well done for making those switches. Thanks for the review of the razor; do you think you are you more likely to cut yourself with these?

I've done pretty well, overall. I think with the lack of ability to angle the head a newbie could nick themselves a few times when getting used to it, but I haven't had it that long or used it that much an haven't done too much damage. Admittedly, I've taken a few more seconds shaving to be careful, but I'm sure that a person could get used to it quickly.

Inapickle - I started using better options about 18 months ago, I use a metal razor, a natural deodorant and solid soap bars in the bathroom basin. I am still using up a huge stash of other things but am going for vegan (I am vegan) and plastic free where possible. I only use cotton pads to remove nail polish now so possibly 2 rounds per week.

You sound quite like me! :D I'm using up what I've got and trying to make better choices in buying new supplies, like bars of soap instead of liquid soap in a bottle etc. Most of the time it's not more expensive but takes a little more initial thought. I'm changing things one at a time and allowing each change to take before trying a new one so that they stick. I don't want to try to change everything all at once then feel overwhelmed and not be able to stick to it and feel like a failure. I have noticed lots of nice vegan products on my travels as well. I try to get them when I can. :A

Good idea - reduce plastic consumption where you can't remove it. :T Interestingly, this whole 'no more buying' thing has really helped with this. It has really made me think about what I need and use and what's the best product in each category for me, and now, as an extension, what more eco-friendly product I can use that has the same effect as whatever my HG product is.

Still not sure I'll find anything better than Nivea Cream (in the blue tub) for my feet, though! :rotfl:

You are so right, SFT: many moons ago I used to work in a posh clothes shop. I weighed a bit more than the other girls and wasn't the prettiest girl who worked there, but it was always a competition between me and another girl who was a complete model clothes horse for the top of the leader board for sales. Why was that? It was because every woman who came to me for advice left feeling a million dollars cos I would help them find outfits that looked amazing on them. They walked out on clouds of air...and everyone deserves that experience, no matter what. :T

Pixi rose toner - WNBA my skin was ok with it, it just wasn’t as good as Micella water

Lush karma shower gel 250ml - classic lush scent. Really liked this and sad it has finished but I have plenty more of other lush shower gels in the stash

Lush princess cotton grass perfume - WBA quite fresh and unusual

Lush bath bombs: splash, autumn leaf and chocomint. All WBA!

Anatomicals algae mask WBA great smell and made my skin feel lovely. 2/3 of these came in a set and were quite good value

Lush silky underwear sample: WNBA didn’t like the smell of this but did make my skin soft

Lush ultra bland sample: I’ve tried hard to love this but it doesn’t take make up off that well compared to my hot cloth cleansers and sometimes it’s quite sticky you have to work hard to not leave a residue WNB

    2 more UUs

ABC Tea Tree Body Lotion 200ml. HG. More in stash.

Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara (I think - the newest mascara). This was lovely and definitely will be a repurchase. Still have about 4 mascaras still in stash. Will pull new one out tomorrow.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    One UU from last night:

    A. Florence Skin Rehab Rich Cream 3ml sample WMB as a full size. This is a lovely product. Very soothing and calming on my skin.

    And one UU this morning:

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume 40ml WDBA and will do in the future. Not at the moment. Though I do like to keep a tube around to help heal cuts and scraps and also to help fade some scars, it does work for me, but it might not for everyone.

I may start put £1 into my savings every time I finish a product. Might help motivate me to save more. And I'm getting better at not impulse buying things. I do have an order for some essentials and two new items to try arriving soon, and I'll need to replace/get backups of items I use daily soon, but that's only two or three items.

SFT/Inapickle - there are so many really good vegan options now, I think it is hard to find a good mascara though by all accounts. I am using lots of non vegan items that I already had so haven't tried to get hold of one yet. I think chucking everything out and starting a fresh is way worse than just using up what I have.

I completely agree with using what you have got before getting more, otherwise it's wasteful and in the spirit of the challenge doesn't help you find your HG products so you can reduce consumption of less best-for-you products in the future. I'm looking forward to buying/making some cool bars to replace my shower gel. I might look for some recipes online with really zingy ingredients cos that's how I like them! :D

I use wet n wild mascara. Some of them are vegan and honestly the range is excellent. I choose this range as the products are excellent, their low price point is a bonus. I recalled a lot are vegan and maybe a range that you might not have considered. They might solve the mascara issue.

I use the megaprotein mascara. https://prettifyourself.com/2018/10/27/wet-n-wild-mega-protein-mascara-very-black-review/
I have bought three tubes of it so far and it truly is brilliant. It lasts all day, comes off with remover easily and does not flake off. I buy it over and above more expensive brands. hopefully this might help you as this is an excellent product that just happens to be vegan!

Thanks for the tip - as someone soon to need a new mascara I will see if I can find a stockist. :)
