Age/Debt?

Hi Everyone, well I'm 27, I first got into debt when I was 20 when hubby and I bought our first house, can you believe we bought our house for £36k 7 years ago  how prices have soared. Anyway we soon realised that things break and need to be repaired and that was the start of our debt journey.
Our debt currently stands at approx £45k, £33k of that was spent on house renovations and is secured on the house, the rest is all unsecured debt made up of overdrafts and credit cards. My main aim is to be rid of unsecured debt first then work on secured loan then mortgage.
I would love to be rid of unsecured debt in the next few years, maybe by December 2009, we don't have a lot of disposable income at the minute so I'm just guessing by today's incomings, but who knows what will happen next year. I've been quidco'ing like mad but any payout that comes from these kinds of areas will be put straight onto debt payment, so I may pay it off sooner.
I know I always refer to everything as 'I' and not 'We', the reason I do this is b'cos it's easier for me to write posts, my hubby is very involved in being debt free but I deal with all our finances, hubby just earns the money and I pay the bills, the poor bloke is away for the second weekend in a row earning money and I'm sat at my computernever mind xx

27 next year when I will be debt free!
Ha! I would be more inclined to believe this if you did not sound so perfect (tall, dark and handsome????). I notice the virtue of modesty wasn't mentioned :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi
I've just turned 33 and have been in debt since I became disabled/ill nearly 3 years ago. OH & I used to be on a very good incomes, so spending on CC's were always paid in huge chunks and we were never I suppose in true debt. When I wasnt able to work anymore and had to give it up OH became my FT carer and we had to claim Income Support.
We have moved the debts from one deal to another but gaining new credit has been hard, but our debt is relatively small compared to most and wil be paid up by the end of January 2008:j :j :j :j :j

I'm 25 and been in debt since i was 22. It all happened when my partner and i lived were renting a mobile home, it was horrible and the land lady was not replacing our plot with a new one for 2 yrs so we just had to get out and rent a 'house'. Our bank wouldn't increase our overdraft by £800 to give over a deposit for a private rented house, but gave my partner a £4000 limit credit card  .
After that it's gone haywire. Hope to be debt free in 5 yrs, so when im 30
Well that doesn't include the mortgage, but our unsecured debt will be gone.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
