Age/Debt?

Just been reading a thread on here where people where a couple of people mentioned there age and there debts so i just wondered (if you feel comfortable doing so) if people could post there age and there debts and what age they plan to be debt free by?
I am 23, been in debt since i was 18 (ah the joy of being able to get a credit card and overdraft!!!!), found this site when i was 22 and aim to be debt free by the time i am 24 and have a debt free life forever! Apart from a mortgage but once i get that it will be paid off ASAP!
I feel lucky to have found this site so young, its changed me so much already, i am not tight now but i do dislike spending money more and if i have to i will look everywhere to get the cheapest now!
Although my weakness for take away is still there but slowly fading!

Hi, I'm 25 and been in debt since I was about 19 - a combination of factors has kept me that way since I left uni. It has never been as high as some people's luckily and at its highest was about £3000, you can see my current situation in my sig. I'm really starting to get a handle on it though and am doing the pay it off by Christmas challenge. I don't think this is really feasible now, but I'm still trying to make as big a dent as I can and have it paid for once and for all by my 26th birthday on 12th Feb.
I know what you mean about having found this site young, you read so many people's posts on here and how they are managing their debt along with a mortgage and children and I honestly don't know how they do it.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

SS, why did I imagine you as 40s?? These forums are bizarre sometimes. I though PaP was a man until she mentioned "ladies things" once on the daily spends thread!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hi! I'm 26, been in debt since 18! (started young!), looking to be debt free by 2010. Hopefully.Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.0

I did a poll ages ago and the result was the majority thought I was in my 40's! :undecided
I took it as an insult then and still do now.0 -
Hi, I'm 30 and I've been in some form of debt or other since I was 24 when I was fired from my high-paid job through ill health and had to live off my savings for 12 months. Things just kind of spiralled from there, because I had to go back to the bottom of the pile workwise once I was able to work again, and was slowly promoted back to the earnings level I was on at the age of 22! I've always lived frugally (got through 5 years of university with no parental help and no debt, except my 3 student loans, which I'd kept in savings), but now I'm really determined to clear my debts asap. My home circumstances have just changed as my fiance is about to move in, so once his house sale goes through in the new year, I'll be posting a new SOA to get some new ideas for savings.I joined the 21k debt free in 2 years head to head challenge 12 December 06

31 and been in debt since I moved to the city after leaving Uni - needed a month's deposit up front, and also bought 2 suits for work. From there on, I've always been covering my a*se!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

I have just turned 37 and I have been in debt since I was 19. I remember the fateful day well... I ambled into Chelsea Girl (pre River Island for the benefit of you youngsters out there!) on a Saturday afternoon and was persuaded to open a store card. The rest is history BUT.. I will be debt free by my 40th birthday even if I have to sell my body to do it - every 50p counts!:rotfl:Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0
