Read court reports in completed court cases on here , read their fears and concerns , how the judge treated them , what issues came up , taking the docs with you about the CRA and Beavis etc to object to the extra charges , get there early and sign in , treat it like a job interview , it's not a murder case and you are not Weinstock so treat it like an interview , it's a dispute about money , nothing more

They won't imprison you or confiscate your cat or evict you , so keep it real , it's civil court a bit like Rinder , it's not a criminal court like the old bailey and Rolf harris.

If you lose pay up , in full , asap , on your way out if you can , with a cheque or whatever , certainly pay within 30 days to avoid a CCJ

Know the core issues regarding the PCN and parking , the judge should guide you so be truthful and honest , only speak if required , dress properly and be respectful

I have just been reading this one

thank you so much. I am nervous about taking my baby daughter and am praying she behaves but cannot afford childcare whilst on low income maternity leave. I am hoping that the judge won't look down on this.

I shall read the link above and swat up on that and my own defence/witness statement before attending. It starts at 10am so I shall make sure that I am dressed smart and there well ahead of time.

If I do lose, do I pay the money to the court? I don't have a cheque book but could do bacs or pay cash on the day if needs be as need to avoid a CCJ however possible.

You pay the claimant not the court

Ask the rep for their bank details to pay by Bacs transfer , do so within 30 days , ideally asap

If you don't have Microsoft office installed on your computer , download and install libre office , also download and install Adobe reader for pdf reading too , those two should cover most issues

Nobody expects a newbie or Joe public to understand it all , but the choices are DIY with help from volunteers or pay a lawyer hundreds of pounds to do it for you (like buying a house and conveyancing , or making a will)

I know 2 lawyers that don't deal with this topic and struggle when I try to explain the topic , yet are brilliant in wills and probate and criminal law , horses for courses
thanks, this has made me feel much better. I am actually very qualified in the mortgage field so could help anyone with that day in day out but I have never had to face anything like this in my life and juggling a newborn as a single mother has made this an even harder task and to be honest I am a bit scared!

Most people get worried about county court but it's no big deal.  I have done it, helping someone else  on here and it was a nice experience.   Take into account that these parking rogues and dodgy legals are well known to the courts and given their nonsense claims, the courts are fed up with their rubbish

Only two things can happen, you win or you lose  ... mainly you will win
If you win, you pass go and collect about £100 from the company
If you lose you just pay what the court says within the time period stated
That's it ...... nothing whatsoever on your record, just walk out of the court, jump in your car and go home
However I have heard that some say that the WIN is better than an orgasm :)

I'm available via PM for any questions

Well this did make me laugh after feeling panicked all morning! These threads and info are all incredibly daunting! One of the appendix on the skeleton argument is the company I’m fighting so hoping that definitely helps! Just praying they don’t ring me and move the court date again as my anxiety can’t take it!

Yay, so happy to read this, tell us what happened, how you felt, which court/Judge and what the rep said outside and what decided the case, for the Judge.  Did you get costs and was the baby well behaved?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
