Once the CCBC allocated a local court they withdraw from the case , so your witness statement plus exhibits plus costs schedule etc go to your local court (a bundle that you hand in) plus a bundle posted to the claimant
Your court order tells you what is required and where they go , please read it carefully
Any supplementary witness statements etc go to the same recipients , don't think you can ambush on the day as it won't be allowed , follow the instructions given above , plus links to what you require are in the template defence thread posted by coupon mad 2 weeks ago , plus the abuse of process thread by beamerguy as well , the search function on here is faulty so we can only do the same as you
You need to get up to speed on this because your absence means you are way behind on those developments
If I have already sent all of that information off then is there anything else I need to do before the court date?
You asked if it goes to the same place as the defence , the answer is no , definitely not0 -

I have now found the summary cost assessment so shall fill this out and email it to the claimant and also to the local court. I will also attach the britannia vs Crosby approved judgement document as an aide. I shall also look for a skeleton argument that matches my own case.

No-one said to file a skeleton defence...that is not what I called it and not what the NEWBIES thread calls it.
Nor is this the right heading based on our newest advice:DEFENDANT'S SCHEDULE OF COSTS
It's a SUMMARY COSTS ASSESSMENT and needs to be signed & dated.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I shall amend the summary cost assesement and sign and date it and then send to the claimant and the court.
The whole skeleton thing is confusing me? Do I need to send something else into the courts or not? I have my defence and my WS printed and have had another good read through as it has been some time since I wrote them. I have also had another look at the information that the claimant has supplied again. aside from signing and sending off the summary cost assessment, is there anything else that I should be doing before court in a few days?1 -
This is what I said before, and this advice still stands and I've put the bit you are missing in bold:As you were away from this forum since October, I am concerned to check:
- did you also file & serve a Summary Costs Assessment yet? You must do before the hearing (see other threads).
- have you read what happened at Southampton and Skipton courts?
- do you understand how the £60 added onto the parking charge is unlawful on three counts?
- if not, I suggest you submit a skeleton argument now, attaching the legal judgments, as well as Schedule 2 of the the CRA 2015 with paras 6, 10, 14 an 18 highlighted as 'breached;' and a Summary Costs Assessment signed by you.
To get up to speed and find the Court Orders you need to read and use, search 'template defence' and read what we now suggest people put in defence, and people in your position can crib from that template and make a skeleton argument from it!So, search template defence and read what to put in now, that you missed. But head your document up 'skeleton argument'. Attach what the template defence now does.

Is there anything else that I need to do or is this everything now to put me in good stead for the court date?
thank you very much for all of your help. This whole thing still baffles me a lot.0 -
If you don't have Microsoft office installed on your computer , download and install libre office , also download and install Adobe reader for pdf reading too , those two should cover most issues
Nobody expects a newbie or Joe public to understand it all , but the choices are DIY with help from volunteers or pay a lawyer hundreds of pounds to do it for you (like buying a house and conveyancing , or making a will)
I know 2 lawyers that don't deal with this topic and struggle when I try to explain the topic , yet are brilliant in wills and probate and criminal law , horses for courses
They are not good on computers either but are excellent at internet searches and Microsoft office and emails , but no idea about security , virus killers and windows issues2 -

I shall download/install what you have suggested. I am sending these documents off today. Is there anything else that I now need to do before the big day?
again, thank you so much for your help!0
