First Credit Card

I'm trying to help my daughter get her first credit card. The two we have applied for have said she is unlikely to get one (one is her current bank where she has a few K savings). She is an apprentice on a low wage - but she lives at home and really only pays for her car and clothes. I want her to set up a dd to pay in full each month and only put her fuel on it - just in order to start building a credit rating. I'd even guarantee it! How do we get one?????

Apply to one of the sub prime lenders. Aqua, Vanquis, etc.

If you have already made 2 applications, I would consider this 3rd application to one of the providers zx81 suggests as the last for at least 6 months, regardless of the outcome.

You don't want her to appear credit hungry which is how she may be perceived with all those searches on her credit file.
