Thanks. Yes I do have other issues. Have you applied whilst logged in (i.e. as an existing customer) or not? I've noticed the applications are slightly different.

I think I was logged out or it automatically logged me out.

No success after 5+ attempts...
  • I got two emails last week, saying my accounts had been closed as I had requested. Only problem was, I didn’t request it.

So I rang up and got told it was because I wasn’t allowed more than one sole account and one joint account (irrespective of the issue). The accounts they closed were both the same issue number and I now have no more of that issue. However, I do still have multiple of other issues, so don’t know whether they will also be closed.

Changing your linked account can be so hit and miss. Or making it a regular payment.

I've been trying for weeks and weeks to open PO37 and every time the website says difficulties.

As of today, I can't move funds neither in nor out of post office accounts :( Really not a problem I need right now...

I have that for my accounts. I got one of them sorted in a 10-15 mins call. I had to answer lots of ID questions. Seemed to be a problem with the linked account.

I'm expecting to need to make a call for each of the other ones , but I don't need to withdraw just yet so I've not bothered for the moment. I've only got them for DDs, so I only care that they work.

So maybe you need to get this fixed, and then try to apply for an Issue 37

I wonder how did PO manage years ago when it was the major saving accounts provider....

That really was a different business. Back then, the Post Office, as far as savings was concerned, was a storefront for National Savings and Investments.

Now it's an entirely different proposition - basically the PO brand stuck onto Bank of Ireland products.

I can't see any PO accounts that would interest me via their website.

Why have people got accounts with them, taking into account the multitude of problems? Santander and Bank of Scotland do accounts paying 1.5% and they are sound with no problems.
