Post Office Savings - what the?!

I'm tearing my hair out with the instant access post office savings account I've opened.
The worst product - it really is! Would never use the post office again.
Every time I try to do something the website says 'technical difficulties' and it's been doing it for a month now. I phone the number, and sit in a queue before I lose the will and hang up. It takes best part of a week for money to go in, similar to come out (if it comes out at all - see below) and direct debits simply never work. More technical difficulties....
I want to close it. I've opened the Marcus one, and I'm pleased with it!
However, the 'available balance' is £10k less that what is actually in the account. So it won't let me move money out. It says I don't have sufficient funds?!
I haven't paid money in for a week, so surely it's not because something hasn't cleared. It's registered as being there in the account - I can see it on the screen!
Anyone know if I'm missing something or had similar difficulties?!
Thanks

The Post Office website wasn't working properly for the whole of the Easter weekend. I couldn't download any statements until yesterday.
I cannot link any current accounts without ringing them up, and spending half an hour explaining to them that waiting another couple of days won't work when I've already been waiting a couple of months.
The issues with Post Office Savings are well documented on here.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
I must be lucky, I never have any problems with my Post Office savers.
Just tried it now, and it was fine :ARetired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
..was a pile of poo a few years ago and nothing seems to ever change with these cowboys....I used them once...never ever again!!!!!!0

As surreysaver has said, problems with PO savings accounts are well documented on here. They don't seem to affect everyone, and I've personally not had any problems, though I have very little going in and have made only 1 withdrawal. However, that doesn't mean the problems don't exist.
OP I don't know if it will help but can I suggest you clear all your browsing history, cookies etc and try again. You could also try a different browser or from a different device.
Good luck and please report back0 -
The only issue I have is that it won't let me set up a regular direct debit to my current account, it just says error. So each month I have to manually do the direct debit as a one off.0

Depositing money with debit card only seems to work once in every 10
Wanted to deposit a largish sum of money so ended up doing a one off DD. Was pending for nearly a week then failed.
Ive had enough & moving cash into marcus. Then dropping my current account regular DD's to £1 to meet t&c's. If theyre taking the mick then so am i.0 -

I am blocked from withdrawing any money from any of my savings accounts by the aforementioned naughty little t ds
Got straight though to the call centre, and was very helpfully told he couldn't do anything about it over the weekend and I was best off calling back on MondayRetired 1st July 2021.

My dad had similar issues when he first got his Post Office savings account a few years ago...The whole technical difficulties thing, which doesn't sounds good..
They have their downsides, they take ages to reply to any problems and withdrawing money can take days which can sometimes leave you concerned as to whether the money is actually moving.
I am also with the Post Office now because their interest rates are far better than any other account I have seen, especially when compared to my own banks interest rates! I think they are worth sticking with considering the rates they offer.0 -
