Non-traditional Wedding Cars

Me and my fianc! are due to marry in August 2020. Neither of us like the look of the traditional wedding cars people usually go for, but we're big fans of old classic sports cars like the Audi Quattro, Triumph Stag etc

However, I'm really struggling to find somewhere I can hire them from at a reasonable price. We have a budget of £250 for our wedding car but most places I've checked are wanting £650 for a few hours.

We would only be needing the car for a couple of hours and I'm hoping to find somewhere in Yorkshire, preferably South Yorkshire, since we wed in Sheffield and want to keep mileage costs down. We've thought about friends and family but theres no one with a car we'd want to hire really ha.

Does anyone know of any sites similar to bookaclassic.com that do classic sports car hire at a reasonable price? or am I being unrealistic thinking I can sort our wedding car for £250?

If you contact a classic car club such as the MG club, or the car type of your choice, they may put you in touch with an enthusiast .
The are often keen to have their car admired for a small fee!

Plenty of places that will hire them but as soon as you mention the word 'wedding' rather than actually wanting to drive the thing then the price increases significantly and £250 won't get you very far.

Allegedly in certain areas of your city and north through Huddersfield/Bradford £250 a day will get you some very exotic, modern kit for a day - they feature regularly on Police Interceptors/Traffic Cops etc

I'd second that and there are a surprising number of car clubs out there, and I'll vouch for the fact that they are keen to have their cars admired. Just factor in the time they'll spend nattering to their admirers whilst you are waiting for them to actually let you get past and get married ;-/

Do you want to drive it or happy to be driven ? The latter I would expect to be more complex.

Presumably OP could hire a self drive car but ask a friend to drive them?

Don’t mention it is for a wedding and pay normal costs. We didn’t tell anyone it was for a wedding except the registrar and didn’t end up paying over the odds.

We went to our wedding in the back of my mate's Triumph Vitesse Convertible. He didn't charge us. He was just giving us a lift. Asking a stranger to do it and paying them might cause insurance difficulties?
