We went to our wedding in the back of my mate's Triumph Vitesse Convertible. He didn't charge us. He was just giving us a lift. Asking a stranger to do it and paying them might cause insurance difficulties?

Don’t make it a service. You’re merely getting a lift,

Never used them but don’t Uber have upmarket cars?
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

Hook up with as many classic car club as you can in your preferred area on places like facebook….many of the members do weddings or events and you will probably find them much cheaper than wedding websites.

If you contact a classic car club such as the MG club, or the car type of your choice, they may put you in touch with an enthusiast .
The are often keen to have their car admired for a small fee!

I never even thought of that...what a great idea!

just make sure that 'the dress' will fit in it if necessary
I think I may be okay with my dress, It's really slim fitting who I'm hoping that won't be an issue.

Plenty of places that will hire them but as soon as you mention the word 'wedding' rather than actually wanting to drive the thing then the price increases significantly and £250 won't get you very far.

Allegedly in certain areas of your city and north through Huddersfield/Bradford £250 a day will get you some very exotic, modern kit for a day - they feature regularly on Police Interceptors/Traffic Cops etc

Yeah, I'm starting to see this. Suppliers honestly hear the word wedding and start adding multiple 0's to the end! Like a wedding isn't expensive enough already

Hahaha this is the thing theres loads of really nice new cars to hire for a reasonable price but because we're wanting something bit older that seems to be where I'm having issues.

Do you want to drive it or happy to be driven ? The latter I would expect to be more complex.

It would have been lovely to get Chauffered but as somebody else mentioned, I'm sure best man or a friend would be willing to drive us, so Im not too worried if we have to go for self drive. To be honest self drive would probably be better because I'm assuming the chauffeur service will increase the price too!

That would be amazing! We're based in Leeds but getting married in Sheffield so thats where we would need the car to be. Are you in South Yorkshire?
  • We had the jaguar xjsxfrom these guys on the weekend package self drive. It was brilliant!

Those prices are great! I love that they do it as a day rate too. Is the cost you see what you get or were there additional charges for mileage etc? I'm assuming a see sort of deposit has to be put down too?
