Non-traditional Wedding Cars

Pragmatic point....
Is it the same car to bring bride to wedding (friend driving) and leave afterwards (you driving)? You'll need to decide who drives for the insurance and who will return it afterwards.
Mate of mine sourced a Jaguar XK150 as self-drive (Sussex so not local to you)I need to think of something new here...0 -
can't remember all the details now but we went fo some kind of weekend self drive option - husband collected it sat morning, drove himself to the wedding. Dad collected it there and came and got me. Husband drove us to the reception. We had a ride out Sunday afternoon to return it. IIRC it was a couple of hundred including their insurance. We picked up and droppped off in Alwoodley Leeds but I think they had other places in Yorkshire. If you have a good look thorugh the website you should be able to get the info and figure out if it's any good for you.0

Hi, this is Classic car Hire North. I noticed your thread and hope it's OK to answer your questions on the Forum. The prices you see on our website are inclusive of insurance for one driver, and whilst there is a mileage limit, it's a generous one and few people exceed it. You only pay for the petrol you use. You can add extra drivers for £20 per person per day. We've a wide range of self-drive classic cars for pickup in either Leeds or Keighley..On selected cars we also have a special wedding package so that you can pick up the night before the wedding and return on the morning after the wedding. Or you can do daily or 24/48 hour hire. There are lots of flexible options and we can advise on logistics, just give us a ring. Open till late and weekends.
Just in terms of insurance we would advise that you need to make sure you are properly covered. If a friend offers to drive you in his/her car there is no problem, but if your friend lends you their car for you to drive then make sure you are properly insured. Similarly if someone drives you in exchange for payment then again make sure their insurance does cover them to do that. Self-drive hire companies and companies specialising in wedding hire will have the necessary commercial insurance. Other situations (e.g. web portals) are not necessarily as clear as that!0 -
