I've been on a roll this morning. Watered plants in and out with DH, dyed my hair, sorted my wardrobe, swept and hoovered throughout, cleaned all sinks and toilets and walked the dogs.

oh Jojo.. I wish I could be there just for you.. Singing him into the light and his afterlife is so heartbreaking but so very fitting and I'm certain he would absolutely love that. He only needs those who truly love him to guide him on his way.. You do what you need to do and let the rest of the so-called family do as they wish.. your 'mother' sounds pretty loathsome and you have clearly grown to be a wonderful caring person regardless. Much love xxx

Sorted loads of stuff today.. several boxes and bags to leave today and tomorrow.. Some bits I need to clear space and find room for. I need a MAJOR culling in the middle room.. There isn't room to move in there at the moment. I'm thinking charity shop needs filling up again.. only sent 5 binbags this month.. totally not acceptable!

Off to drink my cuppa then fling some more things before I have to cook dinner for the marauding horde.

jojo agree with everything the others, just sing and we'll be with you.
We've had a good time with my mum, lots of gardening, some walks, town chores, church and Mum and I went to a good ballet at the local theatre - sadly an hour before we were getting ready, Mr N had to go with MIL to Stevenage hospital again despite our pleas for a closer one. She's likely to be in until at least Tues. 5 mins after he got home at 10.30 pm yesterday the doctor who'd just come on shift rang to say did he know his mum was in hospital........er.....yes......he's been sitting with her for 6hrs.....

    [Sigh]

Edited just in case. Can't deal with the fallout if somebody spots it.

(((Hugs))) Jojo. I'm glad you got to sing to your brother, even if only for a few minutes. I hope he gets his wish. Oh, and by the way, the very fact that you're on this thread means that you can't possibly be an a******e - I never heard of one of those that could fly! x

(((Hugs))) also to dancemum and Narc0 xx

After a frantically busy but absolutely lovely morning, followed by an hour of partying with 2 families from the Toddlers' Group, and by 3.00 sweltering in the heat, I fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours. I was woke up with a start as Rosie dashed out through the open French doors into the garden, as if she'd seen a squirrel, and then making the most dreadful high-pitched squealing sound that I have ever heard her make. As one of the heavy pots on the decking had toppled over, I think she must have bumped into it and maybe it landed on her, or else she dodged it but bashed herself against the sleepers that form the step up onto the lawn. When I got outside she was just sitting on the far side of the (very small) lawn, still squealing piteously. She stopped crying when I went and stroked her and spoke to her. I was afraid she might have hurt her back, but she stood up by herself and then hobbled across the lawn, at which point it became apparent that she had hurt her right front leg/foot. There is no sign of a cut or torn claw, and she refused to let me hold a damp cloth on the joint to try and reduce any swelling (none noticeable), but fortunately within half an hour she was walking more normally and going up and downstairs. I took her out for a very short stop-and-sniff stroll just before 8.00, and she managed the 150-or-so yards without difficulty, but I will be keeping a close eye on her and will take her to the vet if she continues to limp. Right now she's sleeping peacefully beside my desk.

Tomorrow morning I must fly in order to get the house clean, if not totally tidy, and beds made up before DS2 and family descend on us. We're taking DGS3+4 to the theatre in the afternoon and leaving DS2 and DDiL2 to their own devices for a few hours :D

Wishing everybody a restful Bank Holiday xx
