AMEX payment duplication

Any payment I make to my AMEX card is duplicated on my online recent transactions statement. Is this happening for anyone else?

All looks OK to me. Are these pending transactions, or ones already applied? Or a mixture?

Yeah they always show as pending repayments twice and once they clear move to a one confirmed repayment.

Strange, I’ve not had any problems wait till you get your statement then pending payments won’t show.

Yes, this is if you are paying off your statement correct?
Happened to me too. I've been onto them, apparently they are working on fixing it. It hasn't taken the money twice from your bank but is showing twice at the Amex end.

Ok, to come clean about exactly what happened it did happen! We tried to clean the thread up by heavy editing but what actually happened is that over a ‘short’ period - not known Amex were duplicating any payments made to them in my case it was a £500 payment towards my monthly spending and my account showed a negative amount of £500 because they had duplicated the credit ! It took them 7 days to rectify their mistake. Just logged on this morning and found the £500 payment correctly showing as one single payment.

Ok their mistake, but could have serious consequences for someone just paying a minimum payment and believing that they had more available credit than they actually had ? Any comments?

Ok a phone call later, first line deny all knowledge, asked to speak to a manager and he admits their mistake apparently affected all payments between 9th and 15th April.

Basically they were all duplicated on all Amex accounts leaving an incorrect balance. They have paid me £20 in compensation for all the confusion, shame I didn’t get to keep my £500 duplicated credit lol
