I read somewhere that the alcohol has to consist of quite a high proof which isn't easy to source anyway. Otherwise you might just as well wash with good old soap and hot water! That's what I'm doing anyway as my hands react extremely badly to sanitizer (even if I could manage to find some!).

My anxiety levels are on high alert for my son who is flying to the USA on Sunday. It's not the virus that bothers me, but the fact that he might not get back home again. I have a cousin in SAN Diego who has kindly said he could stay with him if anything happens.Work are stressing me with all the emails they are sending out , they don't seem to know what they are doing. We will probably be working from home by the end of next week , if the IT dept can get it's act together. I know they are doing their best but wish they would just send one email not six .Anyway on better news HB near me had everything in, albeit the toilet rolls were flying out again. I have plenty of food now should I have to self isolate . My parents have amazed me , it's like they are completely unfazed by the situation we are heading towards .Anybody who has underlying health conditions is who I worry about. Not spending much as not going anywhere . 😀
Have a good weekend everyone.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4 -
I'm glad you've managed to stock up things including toilet rolls which are becoming a prized asset it seems 🤣. I hope work manage to get their act together.
Maybe your parents think that if they've survived this long then they must be immune to everything! I'm worried about DH because of his diabetes.
Not spending much is an excellent side effect though.

A lot happier now DS can't get to USA , he is gutted about his holiday bit relieved that he didn't get there to find he couldn't get home . My parents has been cancelled as well , so all my family here together .The supermarket was just chaos , my dad just battled his way through. I hope this isn't going to carry on, surely people have got enough stuff now. I have done my DS a goody bag as he has nothing in.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4

The cancellations are for the best, safety has to come first. I'm just waiting to hear if my Lanzarote trip at the end of next month is cancelled, I'm expecting it to be. DD works at Mr M and she said the shelves are empty today, even the crisp shelves. I'd like to know where everyone is storing all this stuff, it's madness.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

My DD needs to do her shopping tomorrow and she is worried about getting anything that she needs . My DGC are the best thing at the moment, they have no worries . I babysat last night and they were very entertaining.I think at work tomorrow will be all about getting our laptops ready to work from home , I hope so. If they ban over 70s going out then I am going to be busy with my parents . My DS will help me out.Worrying times certainly but just going dad by day is the only thing to do.
i have had 12 EBay sales today but 10 are for a friend .Going to the post office tomorrow lunch with one lot and the rest on Tuesday.Have money left over this month so popping into savings .Going to settle down for the evening now.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4 -
Children certainly keep you cheerful Sunshine

Yes children have a way of keeping us cheerful. They could teach us a lot.
Enjoy your evening.Definitely a worrying time - especially for older and more vulnerable folk. I wonder how will we look back on this time in a few years time?January spends - £587.584 -
Well what a day with all the new rules coming out from the PM. I went into work at normal time , got took in an office at 10.00am and told to go home . I have joined the working from home gang. I feel for those who have been laid off without pay .My DD came out of the supermarket with hardly anything she needed , but mum came to the rescue and sourced the things at the local Tesco express .The next few months will be different for everyone, we need to look out for each other , especially the older generation and those with health problems.I am another one who is just checking in once a day to see the latest news.I have decided not to go to the gym , I think getting out for a short walk at lunchtime is better.Have a good evening everyone.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.4
