I've received an email from Microsoft today about some activity on my account in Indonesia. I've changed my password but need to protect my PC further as I think this may have happened a few days or longer ago..

I knew something strange had happened..
From Microsoft Account Support: What happens if there's an unusual sign-in to your account
If you received an email or text alerting you to an unusual sign-in attempt on your account, but you haven't done anything different with your account recently, follow these steps to review your account security:
    1. Sign in to the Security basics page for your Microsoft account.
    2. Select Review activity to check for any unusual sign-in attempts. If you see account activity that you're sure wasn't yours, flag it on the recent activity page and we'll help you secure your account.
    3. If you think someone else may have accessed your account, go back to the Security basics page and select Change password. Create a strong password that you can remember, and don't share it with anybody else.

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

    Hi

My MS Word seems to have been replaced by 'WordPad'. My PC was bought around 4 years ago and is running Windows 10.

I haven't lost any documents but don't understand why MS Office has disappeared completely - I am left with the apps, which I don't like using. Sorry if this isn't very clear but I'm not sure how else to explain it.

I paid for MS Office at the time of purchase of the PC. It is a Packard Bell desktop PC.

    Thanks for any advice.

If you have a 'cloud' office 365 package, you can re-download the programmes you have previously bought by logging into the account.

I doubt that email was from Microsoft, it's just random spam.
