MS Office has disappeared

A re-installed version may be the answer but if the shortcuts have disappeared and also the items in the start menu I would still be doing a search on the C drive for winword.exe before doing anything else.0

Thanks Andy and Giraffe. Looking for windows.exe I have found the key I think.
I am not sure what has happened to my PC - it is Office Home and Student 2013. Something has happened to the view only perhaps - I don't like using the Apps in Windows 10 and have hardly used them. Now as they are all I can see at the start button I have found the MS Office Icon and within this 'view your key'. So it has been stored there all along.
Sorry if it sounds a bit thick as I am very familiar with Word and Outlook but beyond that it gets a bit complicated for me, especially as I don't use or need a lot of what is available on the PC.
So it may be resolved but it's a bit odd - I didn't used to have to go into 'Office' via the icon in the apps.
Does this make sense? I still am not sure what has happened but at least I can see Word and seem to be able to use it..I'm very confused sorry!!
Thanks for your help and if anyone can explain I'd appreciate the errr learning experience that I obviously need.

I'm afraid that if you expect any kind of customer service at all, then don't go to DSG. They're only interested in flogging you their overpriced extended warranties.
They didn't get their regular ranking as the UK's worst retailer without a solid track record.
Glad you got it sorted, now make a note of the license key and back up your data.
If you don't like the W10 app-based theme, just install Classic Shell and revert to W7 or whatever you prefer. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you ever get stuck again not being able to find Word, Outlook etc you can always open them via the "Run" box which is brought up by pressing Windows+R.
You then type the following what's in italics for the following programs:
Word: winword
Outlook: outlook
Excel: excel
PowerPoint: powerpnt0 -
Or you press the Windows button and start typing the name of the program into the search box.If you ever get stuck again not being able to find Word, Outlook etc you can always open them via the "Run" box which is brought up by pressing Windows+R.

I've received an email from Microsoft today about some activity on my account in Indonesia. I've changed my password but need to protect my PC further as I think this may have happened a few days or longer ago..
I knew something strange had happened..0 -

Thanks macman. I didn't know that about DSG but I wasn't too impressed. I didn't buy the warranty or any of the 'tutorials' they offered on Windows 10. I just wanted a new desktop PC and it has done the job but I probably could have chosen better for the money I paid.0 -
I've done a system reset and at least the PC is faster. I'm concerned about the activity in Indonesia though!0

Do MS accounts allow 2-factor authentication? If yes then I suggest you enable it.0
