Very nearly "caved" last night. Some friends came into the pub and were utterly surprised to find i still wasn't back on the alcohol. It coincided with an extremely nice new rum arriving yesterday. The pub fire was on, friends were in sitting at a table beside the fire and it was a heady mixture of enjoyable things which (momentarily) combined with a drink would have been even better. Instead I stayed "Dry" and drove them all home amid cries of "I'd rather get you a beer and myself a taxi".
Anyway, that is 2/26 achieved. Yes Marahouti - I'm in England. Home Counties. :-)
Night 3 to get done. Good Luck all.

BTW Whilst writing "Dry" above, has anyone read the book "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs? I think it will resonate with some of you, as it did with me.

Well done manpants, especially as you have some nights to spare. Hopefully it'll get easier when the pub closes. 😊3

I can't see me having a drink tonight 2/20, not much left in the house to drink except for the sloe gin brewing for christmas.
Nothing to see here, move along.2 -
I have! The thing that stayed with me was that he didn't think he had a problem and only went to rehab because his work colleagues insisted. Then after rehab when he walked into his flat almost the first thing he saw was the hundreds of empty whiskey bottles lined up against the walls. While he was drinking he just hadn't registered they were there.ManPants said:BTW Whilst writing "Dry" above, has anyone read the book "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs?
