Gosh Wanna BF - 12 years is a long time for a thread to run and must be interesting to re read your own comments too.Smushesma well done on 2nd AF day. Sometimes the thoughts of not having a drink are almost worse than not drinking but you've shown yourself you can do it.Declaring early again so 19/21 for today, Thursday.1

Hei**k*n zero is good and if you want something a bit more like an ale Br*w d*g Nanny State. Neither are exactly like the real thing but a good substitute nevertheless. XCoveredinbees!!!! said:Just a quick one before going to bed, on a Thursday I usually have a beer with my father in law. Can anyone recommend a decent alcohol free lager so I can still have a beer?3 -
Wow WBF that's amazing, 12 years! You are proof that it works. Being part of this community and looking in regularly helps us cut down on alcohol. 👏🏼😀.
I would love to read some of the early posts; is there a way of getting to the beginning of the thread other than pressing the back button 621 times?😕
Well done on day 2 Smushesma. 👏🏼👏🏼3 -
Nearly forgot while reading posts 😕.
I'm 20/21 for yesterday please cathybird. Thank you. X3 -

Well done Smushesma! I think it's quite normal to think about AFness all day at the start. It was certainly my own experience. It's as if something we're looking forward to has been snatched away. I used to wait until I was off to bed and then post last thing at night as I didn't really trust myself any earlier. I don't remember who started posting early in the day (not that it's compulsory) but that's helped me. The decision is taken. There's an unwritten accountability on the thread that seems to help. 😊

WBF, I guess that means you're probably the person who has been posting the longest? ... Barny I think has also been around on the thread for many years, in addition to maman. I'm relatively new, think it was the end of 2016 when I joined.Wanna_Bee_Free said:Wow, I can't sleep and I just had a total blast from the past looking back at part of the first thread I was on, back in 2008. Can't believe it's 12 years that this thread has been part of my life. When the forum changes happened earlier this year I thought about leaving and it was you lovely people who I stayed for, even though there is less other chat on here it is such a lovely, supportive thread. I keep meaning to go back and add up my annual totals again to see what my overall trend is. I know I don't hit the huge numbers some of you do but I'm happy to be averaging at least 2 nights each week AF and when I found this thread I never had a day off. Thanks everyone!
