1/18 for June so far.
Haven't decided about tonight yet, I have 3 cans of Tiger in the fridge... will see how I feel after work!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
I always feel a special sense of achievement if I'm dry on a Saturday ....
Strange, isn't it, that the are some days of the week when not drinking is more of an achievement than others.
Good to see you back, Cuppa. It really is. We've been doing major work on our house for 2 and a bit years, but really it started 17 years ago when we bought "the worst house in the street" and now we have a brilliant house! So much hard work though.
I totally get that feeling. When I bought this house 26 years ago I knew it was a 15 year project. I then met OH and when he moved in things sped up, so by Year 10 one of the rooms had been redecorated twice and most of the planned work had been done which I thought was a heck of an achievement. By Year 12 we'd done everything we intended to do on the masterlist but absolutely inevitably we're now doing things that weren't on a list but still really needed to be done. Last year I spent the whole summer sorting out the yard; this year I won't be doing anything other than clearing out a lot of stuff from the attic - which we've spent 26 years filling up! I love this house and simply can't imagine living anywhere else, so all the work has been an is worth it.
We live in a group of eight houses, four others have been completely renovated in that time, another one is half way there, one is ticking along and one has fallen into complete disrepair. I don't envy the person who eventually takes that one on, but I wish someone would because we're terraced and it's our reclusive and very depressed neighbour.
3/30 please, m'dear.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning,
My niece has announced her wedding date for next summer. I know nobody is going to be looking at me but my first thought was OMG I've got to lose a stone! (Which is actually fortunate as my sister, who is mother of the bride, thought - OMG I've got to lose "2 stone" )
Now, you'd think it would be easy to lose a stone in a year and so it should be. I would be a nice trim 8 and a half stone and could reward myself with a beautiful outfit.
Whilst I was pondering my inability to keep promises I've made to myself I thought about the personal trainer Chris Powell and looked for some inspirational words and found these:-Your promises to yourself must be so important and easily kept that you'll reach out and grab them every single day — because you want what you've promised yourself! Keeping each promise to yourself has to be your focus,What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
