    Morning all.

Thank you for the totals Shaggy & Cathybird, no more to add for May am afraid.

Going to try and stick to my SW plan and an afd today. Had a scan this week and am looking at surgery yikes it has scared the hell out of me. Will know more in the next couple of weeks. As am extra stressed I must not reach for the wine bottle like I normally do. Going to get out in the garden to take my mind off it, fingers crossed it doesn’t rain.

    Happy Saturday everyone :j

Hello cathybird. There are 213 days left in 2019 so I would like to set a target of 100 (and hope for more :)) Thank you X

marahouti, I have added you to the annual challenge :) I assume you mean you want to do 100 from today, so you are not including any of the AFDs you have already done? ... You could add them in and maybe aim for 150, or thereabouts? I don't mind going over previous months to tally them up, if you like.

Thank you cathybird; I did mean from today but if the ones I have already done could be added in that would be great. X

marahouti, you've done 34 AFDs so far this year so I've added them in - if you wanted to change your target, just let me know :)

Just like to thank all who have posted on this thread - has really helped me (even though I haven't posted before). Didn't think I really had a problem till I realized that I was going to the pub more times in the week than not - "only" have two small bottles of prosecco at a time, but of course that adds up to half a bottle and at least 5/6 of those a week. Was waking up feeling rubbish - then I found this site and it gave me a bit of a jolt - was a wake up call.

Now, (and because I need to save money - and quite frankly am feeling great in the mornings and sleeping much better) I am going to the pub once a week.

Welcome, Mrs Porridge. None of us starts drinking by sloshing it back with abandon; it creeps up over the years a tiny bit at a time, and those around us do pretty much the same thing. It therefore seems absolutely normal all the time. By the time we realise that what we're doing probably isn't quite as good an idea as we thought, it's a bit of a habit.

Well done for recognising that slowing down a bit is an excellent idea. Keep posting - it really helps because it makes us accountable and'that can be all it takes to shift from, 'One won't hurt' to 'Better not.'

Bummer, Arsenal Barnie. Sorry to hear about the surgery, but hopefully it'll be over and done with quickly so you can stop dreading it.

    2/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Yesterday was going to be a drinking day because I was going to a party; however, party was cancelled so I decided I wouldn't have a drink at home. I always feel a special sense of achievement if I'm dry on a Saturday so I'm happy to report 1/16 for June please Shaggy.
Cathybird thank you for adding me to the annual challenge; I think I would like to change my target to 150 please. X
  • That’s my second al free Saturday in a row. So 1/16 for yesterday. Will see how tonight goes. Think it may be pub quiz.
