Sorry to read you are struggling Leftpeg, lots of good advice on here. I would echo the advice about keep posting, even if only to repeat your current achievements as it is too easy to let days slip by in my experience.Well done Maman for getting to target with so many days spare.I'm declaring early again so 12/18 please. One good side effect of dieting is not drinking so a rare AF Friday. I hope the results will be worth it.2

Thanks for all the support guys & girls! Feeling much better about achieving today, i work nights and im now on a stint of 6 nights so going to take all the advice on board and not drink the next 6 days! 😬 I like drinking coke to the days i haven't had any alcohol ive substituted it with coke and that seems to work a bit.
Going to commit early today and say 6/14.3 -

Leftpeg, I was sorry to read your post. There have been lots of good thoughts shared on here, you just need to find out what works for you. That sounds simplistic, it is, but the real breakthrough is (a) to understand why we want to drink and (b) what works for you as an individual to be able to say, no, it’s tempting but I’m not going to.
There are many reasons to drink: to celebrate, to relax, to reward oneself, habit, a way of fitting in / feeling at ease in social settings, a way of letting off steam, all of these things, none of which I would say are necessarily harmful in themselves. If I could say just one thing as someone who has drunk - and will do again - for all the above reasons, if we find ourselves drinking to make the bad thoughts go away then that is probably the route to behaviour that is harmful. I am convinced that drinking as a means of coping with trauma - blotting it all out - is the thing that has eventually got so many of us into real trouble. And yes, I have also drunk for those reasons and I am sure I will do so again. Not today though. Good luck.
18/30 please cathybird.4 -
