How’s everyone doing? It’s been quiet on here lately. I miss the busyness of our old forum.I am perfectly guilty of coming and going from this thread but trying to make an appearance most days to:-
Help keep myself on the wagon.
Support others at this time of difficulty.
Be inspired by what others are doing.
To know I’m not alone in the temptation.
To not allow being at home a reason for my consumption to increase.
So I am being a good role model to my kids.To not overspend. So I don’t worry unnecessarily about my health, causing undue burden on NHS.To not feel so lonely at times. To feel understood and not judged. To not have lots of empty calories. To improve my sleep at night. To wake up not regretting the night before.Sorry I got a bit carried away there.Live for the moment and plan for the future4 -
Sorry about the line spacing. It looked ok when I pressed Post Comment.Live for the moment and plan for the future3

6 for last night (Thu 16th). Normally I sleep really well when I haven't been drinking booze but not tonight.4

Me too. Rubbish night. I kept waking up and then awake by 6am.I’ve also noticed that I’m loosing weight without too much effort. Cutting back on the wine helps, obviously. But I’m mindful of what I eat as I’m now moving in a different way.Live for the moment and plan for the future3

This thread has been v quiet recently, with only really the same few posters keeping it going; go back one year, there used to be a much deeper pool of people posting and updating regularly on here. It has to be a few things all coinciding together: regular, long-term posters who would staunchly support this thread have stopped for their own reasons (not to single anyone out but HB I guess would be someone I miss on here, also people like Rab who also moved on), then the migration which wasn’t well thought-out and definitely put a lot of people off, then a number of posters dipping in and out as happens naturally anyway (again not in any way being critical of any individuals here, but someone like loveasale was a very regular poster who until recently would contribute almost every day, now, not nearly as much (hope you are doing ok loveasale) and finally the whole current situation which must have an effect on posts to this thread. I do wonder if people have changed their drinking habits. I’m thinking, boredom, anxiety, not having to get up necessarily as early and get ready / commute into work, warm weather, a general feeling of s*d it, has all led to some of us drinking more than normal, maybe a lot more, making it difficult to post on here.
Special thanks to Shaggy and Cathybird for keeping the thread current.
We could definitely do with some of the old names coming back at this time to contribute like they used to, even just for a while. Also any new posters who would like to manage or cut down their drinking at this present time.
17/30 for me please. Friday today, no plans to drink this weekend, I would like to make it an AF month.7 -
Morning all, it's 16/21 for me today3

I succumbed to a couple of glasses last night. Not my usual tipple so it's given me a headache. That'll teach me.
I'd agree that there are a number of factors that influence the thread. Its always been the case that when people fall off the wagon they often don't post for a while. It's the same on the Slimming World thread. Some come back, others don't. Some people who've achieved their goal choose not to post because they don't want to think about it daily. But I think the biggest current problem is the chaotic migration to the new site. There are probably loads of people out there who could do with this site for all sorts of reasons not just alcohol but are put off by the mess it's become.

11 please, thanks x
Living in these strange times, if it wasn't that we have DD1 and DD3 living back here, I would be having much less AFD's. I hope everyone is well xx
