Thanks for the tips arkers. The trouble is with Point 5 is that this couldn't have come at a worse time politically. I suppose you have a different mindset in the military where you've signed up to take orders without question. I naturally question and look for the logic in things. Maybe it's because I have a scientific background, maybe I'm just cantankerous.
I just got back on the wagon last night like any other Monday. I hope it lasts through the week.
12/10 AFDs please Shaggy and I'll have my usual for April.

Hello all 12/18 don’t think I will do any more this month , not working , been doing gardening and housework today , but one of kids has a problem with thier carv, so I’m playing taxi tomorrow, I will drop them at the job and sit in my car read a book then wait for them to finish as they are a key worker !
not ideal but nothing else we can do , as to insure them on mine is a ridiculous expense!
hope everyone is keeping safe x:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:4 -

4/10 for me now, one yesterday and one today. I had my first decent night's sleep in two weeks last night. I hope it happens again tonight. This evening was soooo hard.Wanna_Bee_Free said:I finally managed to get to 2/10 - one for Friday and one for Saturday.
Sorry to hear I'm not the only one struggling - keep posting everyone!
I'm planning another one tonight. Sleep well everyone.
Stay strong everyone!5 -
It sounds like a good plan albeit difficult.marahouti said:
Me too Cuppa. X. My husband is in the most vulnerable group and I'm worried. I am a 'frontline' worker (supermarket nothing heroic) but have now taken leave because I cannot put him at risk. We are practicing extreme social distancing in the home and for the next 14 days I will be self isolating and thereafter strict SD if outside. He of course will not go out for three months. We are fortunate that our house and garden are large and we can have separate bedrooms, bathrooms and sitting rooms but after just three days we are going stir crazy 😞. Strange days, I wonder if life will ever be 'normal' again.CuppaTea said:11 days for me.Feeling overwhelmed today. Trying to stay positive but I’m scared and frightened. 😢
I hope everyone is staying safe.
Thank you Arkers that's really useful. XFingers crossed you manage to stay safe.Live for the moment and plan for the future4 -

Hello I haven’t left but no more afds to report either. Am finding all this so hard. Have a houseful again. Two of my DS’s working and living here again. Taking up my office space. I feel like am running a hotel again! DD is a key worker so is off to work each day. She works at a private hospital and they are about to receive NHS patients tomorrow. Last week they were still going to be doing private ops until 17th April, that is how quickly things are deteriorating. Things are going to get very bleak very soon. Two other D S’s are one in London the other nearby on his own. Don’t know when will see them again. The wine needs to stop every night. Did a massive walk tonight with the dog, has worn me out so hoping to save my walk for evenings to try to use up some drinking time. So positives are have cleaned out the junk room that is in fact our gym. Treadmill arriving tomorrow and yes we have a gym again. This is our garage converted. Office is all sparkling. I can get up early and use it before the workers start.Their jobs are ones where I can’t really be in there earwigging as one woks for well known clients! I haven’t a clue who but that’s all I’m saying on that one. My work is flexible and fits in any time. We have food and money for now and are healthy so can’t complain. OH is stressing me out but no change there. So folks will keep trying. Stay well folks and I promise to keep trying.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.5

Ordinarily Maman I would agree with you, but on this occasion I can't. The advice from a military friend relates specifically on how to help survive a lockdown by relating it to a deployment. In this country we are not used to being told what to do, so our mindsets are not like someone in the Military, but in order to get through this physically and mentally intact it is good advice. Now is not the time to question anything relating to lockdown; indeed for my friend in Spain things are a lot more stringent our rules are quite liberal, and if people don't follow this advice then things will be tightened. I'm sure we all have our own stories already, but just a couple from people I know. A lady I know who is receiving treatment for stage 3 brain cancer at Charing Cross has been told by her Oncologist that it is unlikely she will be able to receive any more chemo due to the Covid-19 outbreak. A friend who works for a company who makes things for the funeral industry has received orders for his company over the last two days for 1000 units to stack Coffins. I think that as a scientist you can appreciate the advice from the CMO Whitty, or the scientific officers, who just stick to the facts based on the science. I don't think that you are being cantankerous, as these are troubled scary times the likes of which non of us are used to and it will take time to get used to the new normal.maman said:Thanks for the tips arkers.
