...hoping to get one more today but will wait before declaring as we are out for lunch. Getting closer to festive times too.

The more festive things I do (decorations up now) the harder it is to treat days as normal. I'm really hoping that after the weekend I can tell myself Monday is an ordinary day and stay AF and reach my target. I'd be happy with that. Any more for December will be a bonus. :)

9/10 AFDs please Shaggy and 4/4 for the SNC :xmassmile

Second attempt at a quote - but I completely agree with you Maman, that's my plan too to get an extra day on Monday. I'd really like to get to 16 but suspect that it will be very difficult to achieve 2 more AFDs when from Saturday on there are lots of social events and meals with friends and family. Great fun but hard not to have a drink. Kudos to those who regularly achieve that feat, not drinking at all at every social event.

I managed to stay AF today so 13/14 and 4SNC today. It was easier earlier as I was driving but very tempted when we got back. However I am looking forward to a glass of wine tomorrow.
  • Well I’ve done 19 days AF in December,, I’m out tonight at a Christmas party, I have planned to drink , but the nearer it’s got ,,,, I’m also almost frightened to drink now !
If I do drink , I will keep off wine , I’m not greedy for spirits !
I will let you all know how I get on !
    19/20 5/5 SNC
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:

16/16, target reached, Shaggy. Thank you. Christmas parties and family visits start this weekend but I'm hoping for at least a couple more dry days before the end of the month. We'll see. Have a good day everyone. X

:T Well done on getting to target marahouti. I'm really hoping to join you on Monday. :)

I know it's my choice whether to drink or not and when I do I know I won't drink to excess but getting to target seems important. This thread is powerful.:D

Welcome back, and I hope everything went well while you were away. ;)

Not a good night for my team. On the plus side I went to bed not long after the exit poll, rather than sitting up drink in hand (which I did the night of the 2016 referendum).

I must admit it's taken me quite a few days to process the results and on Wednesday I started to feel positive again. From an AFDs point of view I think I'll be achieving more next year...I'd got into a bad habit over this year on some nights of pouring a drink very late on in the evening to watch the news!

But the nation has decided....and I'm determined to stop watching late night news, bed for me for and a read.

Including tonight. An AF Friday. And hopefully an AF weekend.
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
