Not doing well at reducing drinking most days although usually not to excess - she said making excuses. However yesterday and today (I hope) will be AF so 2/20 please. I won't make my target but hope to achieve double figures by the end of the month.

While clocking up AF days is a convenient way of measuring how much we're cutting down it's not the only way. Drinking less counts too. :)

I wondered where you'd fallen behind me sukey as we're usually neck and neck. :)

    7/10 AFDs please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I'm rarely tempted these days HB. Just very occasionally I'll be watching something on TV where people are in a bar with a large glass and I remember (the enjoyable bits of) that lifestyle. Mostly I make my mind up in advance that I'm going to have a drink (like weekends, holidays and when we're eating out) and I enjoy it but conversely when I've decided to be AF I stick to that too. I really can't remember when I last had a s*d it day.

That being said, my targets are very low compared with many on here although pleasingly I've achieved more most months. It won't be happening this month though as when we're away at the end of November DH and I will enjoy wine with dinner although my days of dragging him into wine bars at lunchtime are long gone.:D

    No drinking today.

    6/10 AFDs please Shaggy

Interesting. I was never tempted by lunchtime drinking but I can understand the pull of it for those that do, especially on holiday.

OH and I have had a really, really salutary few days regarding booze. BBC4 shows an international series at 9.00 pm on Saturday nights, and it's always been a bit of 'a thing' for us. Pizza, wine in the olden days, something to look forward to every week, and although there are some TV series that don't work for us, the majority do. OH's favourite by a country mile is Spiral, and I managed to score the DVDs of Series 1 and 2 in a local library sell-off. We're currently rewatching both, and to our horror we've realised that while we remember the establishing first episode the rest is completely new to us. Series 1 was shown in 2006 and Series 2 in 2009, so we know we were blotto every Saturday those two years. We simply don't remember any of the episodes at all. Basically, we were !!!!ed, week after week, after week. Both of us.

The good news for us is that neither of us drinks like that any more now that I've stopped completely and we're both thoroughly enjoying Spiral all over again, because it's all new to us ;). We're hoping that Series 3, 4 and 5 will come as a complete surprise as well because the timings would indicate that we were still sloshing it back big time when they were shown.

    14/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
