Good to see you cuppa. It's great to hear that you're keeping up with the AFDs even if you haven't time to post regularly. be back soon.:T
To add a less serious note, when I joined the thread it was because I wanted to lose the weight I'd gradually gained by slipping into a wine o'clock lifestyle. Of course I knew all about the health risks, lack of control and the cost but it was the thought of empty calories that motivated me most.:o
We all know that to have a balanced diet we need to limit treats (whether the treats take the form of chocolate, wine, biscuits, crisps, cheese or anything else). So I determined to cut out some of the wine calories and then move on to eating a healthy balanced diet in general. I can't remember when I joined the thread exactly but I know I've been doing the healthy eating for 9 years and maintained the weight I like to be for 8.:D I think what's made me happiest is feeling that I'm in control of the booze rather than the other way round. It would have been so much more difficult to do this without the thread. Thank you all. :T:A
My dance classes start up again this evening after the summer break so definitely no drinking and some exercise thrown in.

Hello
I finished August on 22/18 and today I'm on 4/18... I think I set September's target as 18 anyway!
Haven't been on much recently but will catch up with everyone's newsSay what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -

It sounds so simple, doesn't it? I'm still struggling with the cutting out treats though, so I can entirely identify with everyone whose focus is on booze. I only meant to have one chocolate biscuit bar, and either later .... Enjoy the dance class, Maman!
5/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
4/20 for monthly challenge and 4/5 SNC please Shaggy. Thank you. X0

Well managed another AFD after celebrations Tuesday - really pleased to get back to that rather than my more usual modus operandi of 'oh well, I think I'll have a drink tonight because ... I've had a bad / good / indifferent day or a glass of (insert colour / grape ) wine would go well with this' or whatever excuse I can use.
I agree this thread is incredibly helpful as without it I am sure I would go much longer without thinking about cutting down. Being subscribed and getting daily e mails mean I do read it even if even not engaging. So thank you to all who contribute and to Shaggy and Cathybird for their sterling work with keeping tallies.
So 3/150 -
3/12 for today please Shaggy0

I ended up pouring a glass of wine at 10 watching the voting in the HoC the last two nights....will catch the wagon as it flies past tonight....What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
