    Good morning everyone.......

And another day. Definitely feeling trim now.

I am feeling the cold these days though, it must be the loss of 2.1/2 stones of body fat. No blubber to keep me warm. :rotfl: Is anyone else finding this. Hopefully my body will adjust in time for winter.

The good news is my blood sugars are coming down nicely, now safely in the pre diabetic zone. My aim is to completely reverse my diabetes. Yes it's nice to be slimmer and (hopefully) look more attractive but my "why" has always been about getting fitter and healthier. My goal is have a fun filled, active and loooooong retirement. :D.

In all seriousness I saw what diabetes did to my mum......I'm determined not to follow the same path.

Not sure of today's menu yet. I think it will have to be something warming and hearty. Might rustle up a curry.

I'm going out for lunch on Friday so need to save a few rollovers. I went to a pub quizz last night and managed to refrain from indulging in the free chips, just had one to taste. How's that for restraint and discipline. Lol.
  • After a trip to Manchester involving using all of my weekly points and some fitpoints, I put a couple of pounds back on which is fair enough as it was totally worth it. Been back on track for a week though and the gain doesn't seem to be shifting, but I'll keep on sticking to plan. My weeklies for this week are almost entirely intact, I'll leave those given the indulgence of the previous week. I've upped my exercise considerably this week with 3 classes already and 62 fitpoints, but I don't think I've been drinking enough water so that may account for the sticking of the scales. Might have a different result at meeting though, the scales there tend to weigh me a little lighter than my home set.

    Can I join in please?

I first done WW 19 years ago, losing 2.5 stone and staying at goal for about 8 years. Then I noticed it was creeping on again, joined again, couldn't get on with the new points so failed at the first hurdle and didn't go back

But I still wasn't overweight enough for it to really bother me enough to do anything about it. Plus shift work and unsocial hours meant I wasn't actually over eating, just when I did it was usually late at night, cheese and biscuits, bowl of pasta type foods after starving myself all day so I kind of got away with it for a long time

Anyways, long story short, I done my usual charity 5 mile walk beginning of this month and seeing the photos and videos of me all over social media, had me knowing I couldn't pretend anymore, I needed help

So I went and joined up today and had the first meeting

Weight isn't as bad as I thought, its just all around my belly which makes me look HUGE. Ive still the skinniest legs and bum ever - think of a big round lollipop and thats me :)

So 23 points and 28 weekly ones to play with

And I went straight into McD's and wasted 19 of them.

Points are certainly a lot different from 19 years ago thats for sure

Luckily that was around 2pm so I wasn't hungry at dinner time so went and done a five mile fast paced walk instead

Just feeling peckish just now so 2 tablespoons of natural Skyr and a tablespoon of blueberries to keep me going till tomorrow, Im pretty sure thats 0 points so the day hasn't been a total disaster :)

Tomorrow is a work day. Thats going to take some planning as I usually just have toast for breakfast and then something on toast for lunch, but bread seems to take a lot of points??

Anyways I shall be happy losing 1.5 stone, I shall be even happier if I make it more but Im aiming for the 1.5

    Good morning everyone

Welcome to Suki and Pickle. Nice to see our little band is growing (and shrinking). ;).

I must admit I found the new point system a bit confusing at first but I soon got my head round it and now I find it so easy and flexible. I have had no real trouble sticking to it and when I do have the odd blip then I just get back on track as soon as I can.

I'm not losing weight very quickly, a bit of a tortoise but I would say it averages at around 1lb a week. I'm quite happy with that. And so far there's no loose excess skin which as I am 67 I thought that might be a problem. So maybe a slow loss is better in that respect.??

Off out today to meet a friend. Just coffee, no lunch. (I'm going out to lunch tomorrow so cutting back today). My friend is doing SW so we will be both just sipping our skinny lattes:rotfl: and having a nice natter.

Yesterday I made a start decorating my spare bedroom. I was up and down the ladder, doing all the cutting in. I made myself do it as fast as I could so it ended up as quite a good workout. :rotfl: Dead stiff this Morning though, so I will have a long soak in a nice warm bath to loosen me up.

Went over my points yesterday by 3 Pts so need to claw back today. So a low pt brunch before I go out and hopefully I won't be tempted to eat out. I'll take an emergency snack with me just in case.

    Have a great day everyone.

    We've got this. :D

Suki, well done on joining WW .FYI, Skyr is only 0 points if it's the fat-free version.

I have lost 1lb. Very pleased after consuming far too much alcohol on a couple of occasions.

    Well done SDW.

0.9lb down this morning. That leaves 8 days to lose 2lb to reach my birthday target......No pressure. .:rotfl:

Lunch out today but I've not used my weeklies yet so fingers crossed.

    Evening all

SDW, it is indeed the fat free. natural Skyr. Im finding that this time of night Im feeling I want something to eat and instead of the crisps or peanut butter sandwich, a couple of tablespoons of that and a few blueberries satisfy me and gets me through to breakfast

Well done on the 1lb loss

So I jumped on the scales this morning and they seem to show a 4lb loss but I would hardly think so in three days so Im taking it with a pinch of salt and will wait till Wednesday for my official weigh in

Anyone use the APP on their phones? How do you get on with it? Im usually au fait with technology but its alluded me so far, managed to log my breakfast 3 times (9 points a time ) and couldn't work out how to delete it so I shall go back to pen and tracker

Im being mainly good. Ive swapped my plate back to a small one and ditched the bread and butter. Was murder tonight as it was chip night and I have got into the habit of making a chip butty and tonight I couldn't :( And yes it was real chips, a handful only with two poached eggs. Lunch was a piece of poached salmon with a teacup of couscous mixed with peppers, cucumber , scallions. Breakfast muesli

This weekend is going to be difficult. Im working tomorrow, when finished have to go visit relatives who are over visiting, and it will be "afternoon tea" and Ill be hungry. Then Sunday morning its the early flight to Liverpool , then travel down to Wales to pick up a car, turn around, drive back to Liverpool and the night crossing back here. Not a day for getting to eat properly and healthily esp as we always use a trip to the mainland to get a decent curry.

Of all the weeks to have started WW :rotfl:

Still at least Im getting a five mile walk in every night so hoping that helps

    Good morning......

Suki.....I can't get on with the App very well at All. I think I may as well cancel my WW membership and just continue doing my own thing. Save myself some money.

I don't go to many of the meetings either. Like you I just track manually, the old fashioned way with pen and paper. Works for me.

I am pretty confident that I know what I'm doing now. I bought a couple of the WW books and the Pinch of Nom book. I mainly cook from scratch anyway. I'm not in the habit of buying ready meals and if I eat out it's a social occasion so I just relax and enjoy.

Thankfully I no longer need to travel for work or live in hotels so I am now able to cook healthy low point foods and takebetter care of myself.

I think a lot depends on your lifestyle.....being retired and having the time to shop and cook wisely has made my weight loss journey a lot easier than when I tried to do it whilst working full time.

    I discovered something very interesting......

We all know the camera can lie and that it can add several lbs but I think it can also be unflinchingly truthful. I also think we can sometimes look in the mirror and see what we want to see.

Yesterday someone took a full length photo of me.....lets just say it has helped me realise that although I am very happy with my progress so far I do want to lose another 1 stone.

I also didn't care much for the top I was wearing......:rotfl:

    Lol LL!

Well we are back from the funeral. I Haa sandwich on the way up, aided in the fact that I was super stressed due to the low oil light coming on in the car hf hour into a 5hr journey! So was trying to buy the oil in a motorway service station, hubby took kids off to BK to eat and I just grabbed a sandwich.

Beakfast was paid for as we stayed in a Premier Inn paid for me and hubby and all four kids eat free. Had a zero point Greek yoghurt with fruit, and a cooked breakfast. Some sandwiches at the wake and a subway on the journey home. Definitely over daily points, but happy with my choices. M going to be sensible today and tomorrow to try to claw it back before weigh in on Monday. But bizarrely I managed to pull my trousers down without undoing the button, and I could barely do them up four weeks ago! Although hormones and bloating do play a part in that.

Anyway onwards! No other big things until the boys birthday mid July, will be going to an all you can eat buffet and having cake. So going for it until then. Hoping for at least 5Ibs off by then.
