think around that date the Northampton CCBC had some technical problems which saw many communications fail. I can’t be sure of the absolutes on this now - things move so rapidly here - but it will be worth your while phoning them tomorrow to check whether I have the correct date (correct date or not, there was definitely a meltdown in communications around that time).

As above it’s possible that Northampton CCBC had the comms issue not DVLA.

the claim would have needed 31 days for pre claim letter (with extra docs enclosed) then a default would have been issued no earlier than 14 days later , so you want that letter

Definitely no pre claim letter or extra docs. I got NTC, appeal rejection, invitations to pay up at reduced rate and debt collector threats and all followed up with hotel with assurances from them re cancellation (plus one lady I spoke to at the hotel stated that they have problems cancelling occasionally as CEL website has gremlins and they have had customers with problems similar before) then nothing since Xmas early Jan until last week when I got the notice from court.
If I hadn’t paid the initial parking fee I’d have held my hands up and forked out. I did and have tried my best to comply with everything yet I’m getting hounded and wrongly punished. It’s wrong, unreasonable, bordering on harassment and bullying to less fortunate or savvy members of the public. It’s a disgrace.

yes its a disgrace the PM said she would stop this 2 yrs ago but she quickly forgot , instead the changes setasides from about £50 to £255

the problem is that a judge will not give you money back untill they have brought proper case , but they will not , they will just drop it and you are £255 down

they are hoping that you will pay THEM quickly (within 31 days) and it will disappear from records

I’ve also asked hotel for cctv covering reception but they claim it has been destroyed/overwritten as it’s only held for 3 months.

I know they’ll drop it but if they do I’ll take it to small claims if need be.
Hmmm best not get political lol. My work is tied to customs and currently I’m running in ever decreasing circles trying to cover every and all eventualities

Standard fare across the entire PPC network. It is appalling. We see it every day, numerous times, ad nauseam.

Hopefully the Sir Greg Knight Parliamentary Act will change things, but I’m rather sceptical after some of the shiite I’ve witnessed here every day of my life for the past 6 years - ever since ParkingEye decided to mess with one of mine.

I think that I might have cost them and their skimdustry as a whole significantly in the time I’ve been involved. :D
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I hope you have informed hotel management , naming staff that "claimed" to assist you

I would be at least getting THEM to pay for setaside

    disgraceful way to treat customers

hopefully upon seeing what has happened to you (and probably others) they will boot parking Co out
  • just wondering if you can do a counter claim (£25) this meand they cannot drop origional

others will advise exact reason for counter claim
  • If necessary I’ll get paper copies of my phone calls so I can show I made numerous calls to the hotel and pursue them for the set aside fee.
