Ryanair petty law-breaking - bait and switch on hot drink and KitKat

Fair enough - à chacun son goût as they say. I've long been saying that I wish I'd invented the "stupid" cups. Royalties might be enough for a comfortable retirement I'd wagersplishsplash wrote: »I disagree about the coffee - those stupid cups are really difficult to drink from and the coffee tastes grainy.

I'll try the same deal again next flight and see what they've learned, and if it is nothing learned, then that means I am entitled to ask again - "What else are they taking shortcuts over at 11 miles up when it's minus 56 degrees C outside?"
There are battles to pick and this isn't one you'll win.
The 22yo Lithuanian Cabin Crew working on minimum wage won't give a !!!! about your 50p. They're charging what their handheld (depending on route) tells them to.
You're free of course to complain to the on-board retail operator (details should be in the in-flight brochure) - if you're lucky you might get your €0.50 back but unless you've an € bank account your charges will eat that up)
Alternatively you can either spend the 2-3hrs without a coffee (the Kit Kat you can still take through security :rotfl) or you can find another airline.
They may bend the rules, people may hate them but 120m pax still choose them every year0 -
"battles"? - I just stated some facts* and posed a very pertinent question - as I will again after my next coffee at 37000 feet :rotfl:There are battles to pick and this isn't one you'll win...
Complain to this sunburnt sweaty specimen with the no accounting for taste tattoo, you mean?? To what end??You're free of course to complain to the on-board retail operator (details should be in the in-flight brochure)
Yeah and 17.4M Brits voted like turkeys for Christmas - De gustibus non est disputandum, right? They may bend the rules, people may hate them but 120m pax still choose them every year

Do you mean by posting here?0 -
Looking at the differences between the two receipts, I wonder if the person selling the items has to manually code the offer and just didn't do it properly.
(Incidentally, YYY is a valid airport code in Canada.)0 -
I wouldn't be at all surprised if that's exactly what happened, Nick.Looking at the differences between the two receipts, I wonder if the person selling the items has to manually code the offer and just didn't do it properly.
Doesn't excuse the FA saying the prices had increased though.0 -
The offer worked on the evening of March 30th. The offer didn't work on March 31st.
Clocks changed that night and many airlines use this to differentiate between Winter/Summer. It seems Ryanair's inflight magazine changed over on that date.
Its probably something as simple as the handheld devices they use not being updated properly.0 -
Better way round the problem - Don't fly with them0

While personally I would agree (I flew with Ryan Air once, over 20 years ago) their fares are ridiculously cheap.
My partner goes to Lisbon regularly, sometimes for the day, sometimes staying overnight. It's cheaper to go to Lisbon for the day than to take the train to London in the morning peak - and we are only 40 miles from London.
They clearly have a hugely successful business model. Its just a pity that their Chief Exec has total contempt for his customers. Surely they could treat passengers fairly and with courtesy, look after them when things go wrong, and still turn a decent profit?0 -
