Thanks for all your support and suggestions. Today started well:
- one load washing on the line
- washing up done
- bed linen changed
- went to Body Balance and zumba
However, returned to find message from Mr N, he'd been summoned away from his much-needed post-game tea to let in a delivery man at MILs flat, delivering some things we hadn't been told about. He got there to find MIL still in bed with back pain. 4hrs later, doctor came. I was general gofer getting C0sta, prescription (tried 3 pharmacies but none had what was needed).
In between, I went to drum class and typed a bit of a report.
Back to check on her at about 11pm.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Good morning
I’m doing an extra few hours at work today. The theory is that this makes my life easier for a busy day on Thursday. We will see.
What with work and the plasterer coming back today, flying is minimal so far this week. I’ve s&s the downstairs loo this morning as a token effort. I’m thinking that the combination of plasterer / DH wfh / forecast torrential rain might mean that I tackle the paperwork mountain this afternoon.0 -
Morning all. Hope your MIL had a better night Narco.
Yesterday I got the bedding changed. Today I plan to dust the bedroom.
It's pouring with rain here and I've got to wait in for windscreen repair so other plans include dusting the living room, planting seeds, getting washing up to date and later bathing the dogs as I didn't fit that in at the weekend. Have a great day everyoneSpend less now, work less later.0 -

Nice thought, but we've just got home. Had a call at 3.45am to say she'd pushed the panic button. We rushed round and she was hanging off the end of the bed, duvet on the floor and very cold. She didn't want to be moved as her back was so painful so we managed to get the dangling leg onto a footstool and pillow, put extra blankets on and gave her painkillers and tea. Mr N had a chat with 111 who said a doctor would ring within 2hrs. Over 3 hrs later they rang, MIL asleep in bed and Mr N and I dozing on a very upright 2 seater sofa. Left an essay for the carers and just came home, cancelled 9.30 zumba and gone back to bed!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Work in bathroom continues so no cleaning upstairs today. WM already on but that is us up to date, DD1 comes home this afternoon and she has loads of stuff to wash, I think every item of clothing is dirty as are all her towels and bedding.
Had hair coloured for the first time yesterday to cover up the white bits(I'm very blonde so go white not grey) it's nice but not sure yet if it's worth doing again or not. But certainly not regretting having it cut very short.
Cats currently sat on desk with me, helping with admin!
Right better get a move on and go and clean DD1 bathroom ready for her return this afternoon.
Hugs to all those that need, especially those with ill/ageing familly0 -
Did my own version of bathrooms this morning.
S&S in ensuite, might go back and do the shower because that's the only place that needs more. It's amazing how clean a bathroom stays when you S&S.
Cleaned window frames, sink, bath and toilet in main bathroom. Popped a block down the loo to descale/clean and DS1 promptly used it. How he couldn't see a dissolving block I don't know. Flicked over the shower cubicle but that is the OH job so I'm not doing it properly.0 -
Cleared most of the kitchen yesterday, wiped down sides and emptied main bin, food bin, and recycling box to the big bins outside and washed up, then loaded dishwasher with all of the dinner items which OH should have put on this morning after putting in the kids' breakfast things.. should.. :rotfl:
OH has declared his desire for a bath this evening and I will need a shower after the gym, but once that's all done I will wipe over the sinks and sides and loo. Bought a shower cleaner from Aldi which is supposed to help remove watermarks, it has made a bit of a difference but I read this morning that it's best to start with a completely clean shower, so I will wipe that down before I get in, and spray once I have had my shower and hopefully it can stay nice - we have extremely hard water so the shower screens turn horrible quickly!0 -
Drum roll please
I am in a size 14 jeans!!!! and chuffed to bits. (Yes I can move and walk, but a bit tight around the waist, I was fed up with the size 16's falling down on thier own, much to OH's amusement!!)
Daily stuff done
Off to local gym to see what classes they offer, that don't have loud pumping music, as I now don't think the walking is enough for me to shift this extra weight. I'm going to walk there and back once it has stopped raining.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi. This is my first post and I’m not really sure what to do. I have followed MSE for years in the background, saving money along the way. I recently took early retirement and now need to get to grips with the house! I thought this forum would be a good place to start so I would like to join please. 😊0
