I have as well but your electric is 60% more than me and the gas 50% and I know I need to do better. I have often said on this forum not to compare with others or what you used in your old house and that everyone's life style is different but you do need to look at your energy usage.
For a starter
1) control the use of that electric shower - a 15 min shower is 35p
2) switch those lights off, the TV when there's nobody in the room - lots of little thingsNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I do have to look at the energy usage, it is a big 4 bedroomed house but it is built with thermal block, the bills over the last year are excessive and that is something I cannot understand and will have to look at from my side. We are on the standard variable rate which is not the best, to change plan now would mean Eon have to fit a smart meter 2 as that is one of their stipulations. Catch 22 springs to mind or just pay the bill and change company.0

They won't let you change while you are in debt. Pay the bill.
If you put you put your actual consumption figures into a comparison site the savings you will get by switching from the SVR will concentrate your mindNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Gas use is not overly excessive at 17000, above average but not excessive (assuming gas ch). Electric on the other hand is very high which suggests you do need to look at usage. What high use items do you have - any electric underfloor heating, electric showers, electric heaters, tropical fish or animals ?0

As you can see I did give readings during the course of the year as shown below and still did not receive a bill for 11 months, if I had received a bill I would have found out my DD was not covering my usage and I would have adjusted my DD to take into account my higher usage. That is my issue I could have adjusted my DD if I had known it was incorrect.
OP still does not understand the concept of going online and managing the account and does not understand that the bills will be online ready to be seen. Sometimes it gets pointless trying to give advice:(The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
